The state-of-the-art campus opened in 2024 in the heart of the smart business district, GIFT City (Gujarat International Finance Tec-City). Overview
The Manager, Marketing (GIFT City Campus) is responsible to lead, manage and undertake the development and implementation of marketing and communication strategies and plans that facilitate the positioning of the GIFT City campus profile. Develop and manage a cohesive marketing plan and lead the marketing and promotional activities of the campus to support the achievement of annual targets for student recruitment across offered courses. Provide advice to the GIFT City Campus Director and Leadership team members relating to campus marketing objectives, including developing and driving new strategies, preparing concept proposals and project plans as required. Identify, build and maintain industry partnerships and relationships to ensure appropriate and valuable work integrated learning opportunities are available to enhance student learning outcomes.
Reporting to the Academic and Campus Director, GIFT City the role will:
- Coordinate and lead plans, projects, campaigns, activities and events to engage with prospective students to meet student enrolment targets.
- Develop and manage student recruitment channels through International and Domestic recruitment partners. Enable, monitor and provide last mile support to ensure success of the channel.
- Manage and implement student recruitment, outreach and promotional events to ensure a high level of prospective student engagement in all course promotional activity across all GIFT City courses.
- Monitor performance towards recruitment targets and identify and rectify issues to ensure the campus meets its recruitment objectives.
- Conceptualise local plans in alignment with University strategies and monitor progress and risks, adapt personal and team priorities and plans as required.
- Actively engage and enable collaboration across teams and with a diverse range of stakeholders to negotiate inclusive and accessible solutions and achieve strategic goals.
- Monitor external sources, identify underlying trends and use a range of references and professional networks to conduct specific research ensuring sustainable and inclusive results.
- Establish systems and procedures to guide work and track progress and strive for excellence and continually evaluate progress and effectively overcomes barriers to achieve outcomes.
- Develop a network of useful contacts within Deakin and integrate perspectives held within different areas of the University and put plans in place to build collaboration and develop common goals. Interpret needs and offer pragmatic, inclusive and sustainable solutions based on research and in alignment with University context, policies and practices.
- Use understanding of the target audience to structure and shape communication to meet information needs or concerns and anticipate and prepare for the audience’s reactions and questions
- Act as a coach and work with team members to facilitate growth and development by giving balanced, constructive feedback considering individual capability and team performance, in alignment with Deakin’s code of conduct and core university strategies and policies that promote a safe, sustainable and productive working environment.
- Lead an omni‑channel student recruitment strategy across digital, website, agents and events, with strategic oversight of content and user journeys to drive enquiries and enrolment conversion.
- Monitor market trends and channel performance to identify risks and opportunities, influencing senior stakeholders with evidence‑based insights and partnering with central teams on mitigation actions.
To be successful, you’ll have:
- Postgraduate qualification or extensive marketing experience with demonstrated management expertise in complex environments
- Proven experience conceptualising, developing, and executing marketing projects across print, digital, social, and advertising channels
- Ability to develop and deliver tailored marketing and communications plans to diverse audiences, with demonstrated capacity to measure effectiveness
- Experience in strategic partnership development and leading collaborative teams to deliver results
- Proficiency with web-based tools and Microsoft Office, plus knowledge of university context and postgraduate student pathways
