Title: Marketing Manager Reports to: CEO Location: Remote, anywhere in India. Travel up to 25% for in-person collaborations and design-partner meetings.
Start date: September 2026.
How to get ahead of the competition and get noticed, as applications without writing sample notes will not be considered.
Step 1: Submit the LinkedIn application
Step 2: Submit your 3 writing samples + CV to admin@aletra.ai
3 writing samples that demonstrate your range: one technical thought-leadership piece you wrote, one demand-generation campaign you ran (a one-page summary of the campaign mechanic and the pipeline outcome it produced), and one brand or positioning artefact (a landing page, a launch note, a category narrative — whatever shows your taste). Links to live work are preferred over PDFs.
You are the first marketing hire at Aletra. You own the brand from launch, the content engine from the first sprint, and the demand generation function that delivers qualified leads into the sales pipeline. The role is structured for elevation to Marketing Lead at the start of Year 2, on confirmed delivery against Year 1 outcomes provided at the offer stage.
Why Now
Aletra is the Unified Data Security Platform for cross-border companies. You are hired now because the brand cannot be built retroactively — the narrative, the voice, and the audience trust that compounds over twelve months either starts in September or it starts a month later. A year from now, the marketing function has scaled, and you are leading it.
What You'll Bring
- Four to seven years in B2B SaaS marketing, with at least two years inside a product-led or technical-buyer company — security, compliance, fintech infrastructure, devtools, or a data platform. Cybersecurity or compliance sector tenure is a meaningful plus; it is not a gate.
- Hands-on across the full marketing stack at a startup: content production (including writing yourself, not just commissioning it), demand generation (LinkedIn Ads and Google Ads), brand and positioning, website management (Webflow or comparable CMS), and marketing automation (HubSpot or equivalent).
- A demonstrable inbound-content track record. You can show specific pieces you wrote or commissioned and the MQL or pipeline outcomes they produced. We read for measurable causation, not for activity.
- Comfort selling to technical buyers — CISOs, DPOs, Heads of Compliance, security engineering leads. You know how to write for an audience that disqualifies fear-based marketing and rewards substance.
- Familiarity with DPDP Act 2023, GDPR, or SOC 2 as topics you can credibly write about, brief external authors on, or commission third-party experts to produce content around.
- Analytics fluency: Google Analytics 4, LinkedIn Campaign Manager, basic attribution modelling. You can build a content-to-pipeline dashboard without an analyst's help.
- Strong written communication. This is a fully remote role with weekly content sprints. The medium is the work; your writing samples weigh heavily in the loop.
- A founding-team disposition. You are comfortable being the marketing function for at least the first twelve months, with no team to delegate to.
What's a Plus
- Prior tenure inside a cybersecurity, data privacy, or compliance SaaS company.
- Hands-on experience launching a brand from zero — website, voice, category positioning.
- Account-based marketing or intent-data tooling experience (6sense, Clearbit, Apollo, RB2B, or similar).
- Working knowledge of the Indian BFSI compliance buying cycle, or a Rolodex of analyst and trade-publication relationships in the Indian tech ecosystem.
- Experience working alongside an SDR or BDR pod on MQL-to-SQL conversion.
Who You'll Work With
- Reports to: COO. Weekly one-on-one, content review cadence, monthly campaign, and pipeline review.
- Direct collaborators: the Sales Engineer (demo collateral and customer-facing technical content); the Compliance Specialist (DPDP Act and regulator-facing thought leadership); the Sales Development Representatives (MQL handoff and feedback loops); the Customer Success Lead (case studies and reference content).
- External: Indian tech and security trade publications (launch shortlist: Medianama, Inc42, ETtech, Entrackr); the initial roster of three to five design-partner customers willing to be referenced; analyst contacts as the category positioning matures; an outsourced creative bench for design and video production.
Compensation
Compensation is calibrated to your experience. We do not pay performance bonuses. On confirmed delivery against Year 1 outcomes provided at the offer stage, this role is eligible for elevation to Marketing Lead at the start of Year 2. Group health insurance for you and your dependents, plus term life cover.
Interview loop:
1. 45-minute screen with the Co-Founder.
2. 90-minute marketing strategy deep dive - building Aletra's first 90 days from the brand-launch perspective, worked through live.
3. 60-minute Content Audit Conversation: Walk us through your writing samples and the decisions behind them.
4. 30-minute conversation with both founders on operating norms, compensation, and the Year 1 plan.
5. BGV check.
We value originality, clarity of thought, and authentic execution. Any misrepresentation of authorship, materially AI-generated submissions presented as original work, plagiarism, or fabricated campaign results will result in immediate disqualification and a five-year ban from future opportunities at Aletra. Aletra is an equal opportunity workplace and complies with the POSH Act 2013.
