What we believe: The most useful marketing tells the truth in a way that’s worth reading. We’re allergic to FOMO timers, fake discounts, and copy that sounds like it was written by a robot in a hurry. (Even when it was. Especially when it was.) AI is a force multiplier here, not a shortcut to mediocrity — and getting that distinction right is most of the job.

1. Show us a prompt or AI workflow you actually use.
Share one prompt, custom GPT, Claude project, or small automation you’ve built that genuinely saved you time or made your work better. Paste it in. Tell us briefly what problem it solved, what you tried before, and what changed after. We’re not looking for the most clever prompt — we’re looking for evidence you’ve sat with AI long enough to make it work for you.
2. Critique this ad copy.

In 4–6 lines: What’s wrong with it, why does it feel off, and how would you rewrite it for a company like ours? (No need to overthink the rewrite — we’re more interested in how you diagnose the problem than how polished the fix is.)
A small note on AI: Yes, you can use AI to help draft your answers — we’d be suspicious if you didn’t. But we’ll know if the whole thing was generated and pasted in. The best applications will read like you, with AI as a thinking partner, not a ghostwriter.

About the role
Codebasics is hiring a Marketing Operations Executive to own the end-to-end execution of our marketing engine, with AI built into the core of how the work gets done. You will sit at the centre of every product launch, working across paid media, email, WhatsApp, website, SEO, and organic content. This is a hands-on role: you will conceptualise, design, build, ship, and report, using tools like Claude and ChatGPT as your default operating layer and building lightweight tools and workflows of your own where they speed things up. It is best suited for someone who treats AI as a force multiplier rather than a novelty, enjoys execution, has a strong design sense, and can move campaigns from idea to live without dropping detail along the way.
What you will own
- Campaign lifecycle: Run every product launch campaign from brief to wrap, using AI to accelerate pre-launch planning, asset rollout, mid-campaign monitoring, and post-campaign updates. Build prompt workflows and lightweight tools that turn each launch into a repeatable, faster system.
- Paid ad creative: Conceptualise and design ads per campaign using AI image and creative tools alongside Canva. Go from prompt to text to polished, on-brand creatives ready for deployment, and refine your prompting so the AI output gets closer to final each cycle.
- Video ad production: Use AI to draft and sharpen short-form scripts for paid social with editing direction built in. Coordinate shoots, explore AI-assisted editing and voice tools where they fit, and manage handoffs to video editors and the upload workflow.
- Asset management: Maintain a clean, organised asset library with consistent naming, version control, and shareable links. Use AI to auto-tag, summarise, and keep the campaign tracking sheet updated for every drop instead of doing it by hand.
- Ad copy and preview QA: Review ad copies and live previews from the external performance marketing team before ads go out. Use AI to run a fast brand-and-tone check at scale, and edit anything off-brand or salesy directly.
- Email campaigns: Concept, write, and build emails for waitlist and database segments with AI as your drafting and variant partner. Coordinate audience pulls with the data team and use AI to read performance and shape the next send.
- WhatsApp campaigns: Plan and execute high-intent WhatsApp sends per campaign, using AI to generate and test copy and creative variants aligned to the campaign hook.
- Website updates: Manage landing page and website content, using AI to draft copy and run quality checks across pages, and handle admin panel updates around launches.
- SEO coordination: Sync regularly with the external SEO team. Use AI to interpret recommendations, draft technical change briefs for the engineering team, and track ranking outcomes.
- Learner-Generated Content: Use AI to convert monthly social insights into templated content for socials in the learner’s own voice, with minimal brand framing.
- AI tooling and workflows: Build and maintain the marketing team’s AI toolkit. Create reusable prompts, custom GPTs and Claude projects, and lightweight no-code or low-code tools that remove repetitive work and make every campaign faster than the last.
What we are looking for
- 2+ years in marketing operations, performance marketing, or growth roles, ideally at an EdTech, D2C, or SaaS company, with a clear track record of using AI to do the work faster and better.
- Strong hands-on design skills, amplified by AI. You can go from prompt to a polished, on-brand creative in one sitting and know how to direct AI tools to get there.
- Copy instincts. You can spot a salesy, off-brand line, whether written by a person or an AI, and rewrite it in clear, human, brand-aligned voice.
- Deep fluency with AI tools. This is the heart of the role. You use Claude, ChatGPT, and AI creative tools as your daily operating layer, not a novelty. You write strong prompts, know each tool’s strengths, and can build reusable prompt libraries, custom GPTs, Claude projects, and simple no-code or low-code tools that take repetitive work off the team’s plate.
- Sharp eye for detail across creative, copy, file structure, link permissions, and campaign variants, including the judgement to catch where AI output falls short.
- Strong ownership and follow-through. You close loops without being chased.
- Working knowledge of Canva, SharePoint, Notion, Google Sheets, and Meta Ads Manager, plus Claude, ChatGPT, and at least one AI image or creative tool.
Bonus
- Basic HTML and CSS comfort for email builds and ad creative templates, especially paired with AI to build and debug faster.
- Video script writing experience for paid social.
- Familiarity with Meta Ads Manager beyond previews, including reading creative performance.
- Past experience working within a defined brand system (typography, palette, tone).
- Experience building AI workflows or tools, such as custom GPTs, Claude projects, automations, or no-code or low-code apps that solved a real marketing problem.
