About The Role
The Regional Marketing Director for India at Abbott Laboratories is a pivotal leadership role responsible for steering the strategic direction of marketing initiatives within the local market. This position involves overseeing all facets of marketing operations, including healthcare professional (HCP) engagement, consumer marketing, digital strategies, customer relationship management (CRM), and enhancing the overall customer experience. The incumbent will lead a dynamic marketing team, ensuring the execution of innovative and effective marketing strategies that align with both regional and global objectives. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership capabilities, excellent stakeholder management skills, and a proven track record in developing integrated marketing plans that drive business growth and brand equity.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor’s degree in business management, science, or related fields, with an advanced degree such as an MBA considered an advantage. A minimum of 10 to 15 years of relevant experience in marketing or brand management, preferably within the pharmaceutical, medical device, or consumer health sectors, is essential. Demonstrated success in developing and executing integrated, omni-channel marketing strategies is required, along with at least five years of managerial experience leading and motivating teams. The candidate should have a strong ability to influence senior stakeholders, communicate insights effectively, and collaborate across functions. Proficiency in MS Office Suite, including PowerBI, MS Teams, Excel, PowerPoint, and CRM platforms like Veeva Vault and Salesforce, is also expected.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute comprehensive long-term marketing strategies aligned with both global and regional objectives, ensuring they support business growth and brand positioning.
- Lead, motivate, and develop the marketing team, setting clear goals, tracking performance, and fostering a culture of continuous learning and innovation.
- Collaborate closely with the affiliate leadership team and cross-functional stakeholders in Commercial, Sales, Medical, and other departments to ensure marketing efforts are synchronized with overall business priorities.
- Oversee marketing budget allocation, ensuring optimal investment that maximizes ROI and supports strategic initiatives.
- Drive marketing execution with creativity and innovation, ensuring the FreeStyle Libre brand maintains a high share of voice and a strong link between marketing activities and sales performance.
- Analyze marketing performance metrics, leveraging insights to refine strategies, improve execution, and enhance overall effectiveness.
- Lead the development of marketing insights and presentation materials for annual planning, business reviews, and local brand evaluations (LBE).
- Represent the affiliate in regional and global marketing discussions, advocating for local market needs and ensuring strategic alignment.
- Ensure all marketing activities comply with legal and regulatory standards, maintaining the highest standards of integrity and compliance.
- Build and nurture relationships with external partners, including agencies, media outlets, and vendors, to enhance marketing effectiveness and reach.
- Lead innovation initiatives by piloting new marketing approaches and assessing their scalability and impact.
- Cultivate a collaborative, data-driven culture within the marketing team, promoting continuous improvement and best practices.
