POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Marketing Cloud Development Lead is a hands-on technical leadership role that partners closely with the Sr. SFMC Architect and serves as a close peer in execution planning, prioritization, and solution design. This role is responsible for designing, building, and maintaining scalable Salesforce Marketing Cloud solutions while providing ongoing technical leadership, coaching, and development standards for India CRM resources. The role actively leads development across Email Studio, Journey Builder, Automation Studio, and Mobile Studio, ensuring solutions are performant, scalable, and aligned with enterprise data architecture. This includes building dynamic, personalized messaging, integrating Marketing Cloud with external systems, and enabling seamless data flow to support advanced segmentation and customer journeys. This position maintains a strong balance between hands-on development and day-to-day leadership of India-based developers, ensuring both delivery quality and team capability continue to scale. This role is expected to remain actively hands-on in development while leading through technical excellence.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND TASKS
• Provide day-to-day technical leadership, coaching, and direction to India CRM developers, including code reviews, solution guidance, estimation support, and QA alignment to ensure consistent delivery quality. (30%)
• Partner closely with the Sr. SFMC Architect on prioritization, architecture alignment, solution design, and deployment readiness, acting as a key bridge between strategic direction and execution. (20%)
• Design, build, and maintain scalable marketing solutions within Salesforce Marketing Cloud, including Email Studio, Journey Builder, Automation Studio, and Mobile Studio. (20%)
• Develop dynamic, personalized messaging and data-driven campaigns using AMPscript, SSJS, and SQL to support advanced segmentation and lifecycle marketing initiatives. (15%)
• Lead integration and journey optimization efforts, including connecting Marketing Cloud with external systems (Salesforce core clouds, APIs, data warehouses), building trigger-based journeys, and ensuring accurate segmentation and performance tracking. (15%)
QUALIFICATIONS
• Strong command of SQL, HTML, CSS, AMPscript, SSJS, Automation Studio, and Journey Builder.
• 6+ years of experience integrating Salesforce Marketing Cloud with external systems (Salesforce Sales/Service Cloud, APIs, data warehouses).
• Ability to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
• Strong communication and leadership skills across distributed teams.
