About the role

Role Overview

We are seeking a highly analytical and resourceful individual to support our quantitative finance projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong mathematical or technical background, demonstrated proficiency in Python (particularly using Pandas), and an inquisitive mindset geared toward problem-solving. Familiarity with financial markets is advantageous but not strictly required.



Key Responsibilities

Data Analysis and Research

  • Collect, clean, and analyze financial and market data, leveraging Python and Pandas.
  • Develop, optimize, and validate quantitative strategies and models.
  • Proactively investigate new techniques, data sources, and analytical methods to enhance research outputs.

Quantitative Model Development

  • Implement and maintain quantitative models, including but not limited to pricing models, risk models, and forecasting tools.
  • Employ best practices in version control, testing, and documentation to ensure maintainability and reproducibility of code.
  • Collaborate on model back testing and performance monitoring, including real-world stress testing when applicable.

Collaboration and Communication

  • Work closely with stakeholders to clarify objectives, define project scope, and manage deliverables.
  • Participate in code reviews to share knowledge, identify potential improvements, and maintain high-quality coding standards.
  • Effectively communicate complex findings and methodologies to both technical and non-technical audiences.



Required Qualifications and Skills

Problem-Solving Aptitude

  • Demonstrated ability to tackle complex, open-ended problems with analytical rigor and creativity.

Technical Proficiency in Python

  • Strong hands-on experience with Python, particularly for data manipulation (Pandas, NumPy, etc.).
  • Familiarity with scientific computing libraries (e.g., SciPy, matplotlib) for quantitative analysis.

Academic and Professional Background

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field such as Quantitative Finance, Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a closely related discipline.
  • Solid grounding in mathematics, including linear algebra, calculus, and probability/statistics.



Preferred (Nice-to-Have) Skills

Candidates who demonstrate experience in any of the following areas will be given additional consideration:

  • QuantLib – For advanced fixed-income instruments, term-structure models, option volatility surfaces, and risk analytics.
  • Scikit-learn – For machine learning model development and experimentation.
  • Docker – For containerizing applications and ensuring consistent deployment environments.
  • Postgres or other SQL databases – For managing and querying large datasets efficiently.
  • Git/GitHub – For version control, code collaboration, and continuous integration (CI/CD) pipelines.
  • Cloud Platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) – For high-performance computing and scalable data processing.



Additional Considerations

Financial Market Knowledge

  • Understanding of market instruments, asset classes, and trading strategies is beneficial, though not mandatory.

Soft Skills

  • Strong communication, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with diverse teams and adapt to changing project requirements.
