JOB PURPOSE

 

The Finishing Tech I position is responsible for the vibratory and deburring of all parts required. This position will run vibratory machines and deburring equipment and is responsible for ensuring parts pass visual inspection. Machine Operators must follow all operator instructions along with strict adherence to the Quality System. 

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Adhere to all Safety Principles.
  • Adhere to all Quality System Standards.
  • Process components within established operator cycle times.
  • Vibratory and deburr all parts.
  • Visually inspect components to ensure parts meet quality standards.
  • Change media, cleaners and adjust machines to ensure they are functioning properly.
  • Maintain equipment to ensure it is in proper working order.
  • Keep area organized and clean.
  • Participate in Safety, Quality, and Cost and Delivery improvements.
  • All other duties, as assigned

 

QUALIFICATIONS

 

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment preferred, particularly in finishing processes.
  • Basic understanding of vibratory and deburring processes is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Able to perform work accurately, thoroughly and in a timely manner. 
  • Able to manage and perform multiple tasks and duties at the same time.
  • Able to use common hand and power tools.
  • Able to read and understand Safety Rules, Standard Operating Procedures and Work Instructions.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment.
  • Flexibility to work all areas of the operation based on the needs of the organization.
  • Maintains a positive attitude.
  • Able to maintain confidentiality as required.

 

WORKING CONDITIONS

 

Work is performed in an operational manufacturing warehouse environment. While performing regular duties, this position is exposed to various chemicals, solvents and loud noise. Proper protective equipment (PPE) must be worn at all times. Specific job assignments may require working under stressful conditions or working irregular hours, including day, evening, weekend, or holiday hours. Overtime may be required.

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

 

This position requires prolonged standing, bending, twisting, reaching, pushing, pulling, stooping and stretching, and full range of body motion including handling and lifting up to 50 pounds frequently, manual and finger dexterity, as well as a normal range of hearing and vision.
