Job Description: Senior Manual Test Engineer (Web & API)
Project Context
We are seeking an experienced Senior Manual Test Engineer to join the QA team within our Planning department. This role is hands-on and manual-test–driven, with a strong focus on functional testing of Web applications and APIs. Exposure to test automation is a plus, but the core expectation is strong manual testing expertise, test design skills, and quality ownership.
🔍 Key Responsibilities
Manual Testing (Primary Focus)
- Perform functional, integration, system, and regression testing for web applications and backend APIs.
- Analyze business and technical requirements to create test scenarios, test cases, and test data.
- Execute manual test cases across multiple environments (TEST, ACC).
- Participate actively in SIT, E2E, UAT support, and regression cycles.
- Validate application behavior, UI workflows, and backend functionality against business expectations.
API Testing
- Perform manual API testing for RESTful services using Postman or similar tools.
- Validate request/response payloads, headers, status codes, and error handling.
- Conduct functional and integration-level API tests to ensure data accuracy and system reliability.
- Support basic API automation or collections where required (good-to-have).
Web Application Testing
- Test UI functionality across browsers and devices as applicable.
- Validate usability, navigation, data flow, and integration points.
- Ensure alignment between frontend behavior and backend responses.
Test Planning & Collaboration
- Collaborate with QA Leads, Product Owners, and Developers to:
- Define test scope, strategy, and coverage
- Identify test dependencies and risks early in the cycle
- Review requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria to provide proactive feedback from a QA perspective.
Defect Management & Reporting
- Identify, log, and track defects using Jira or Azure DevOps.
- Provide clear reproduction steps, evidence, and impact analysis.
- Share test execution status, defect metrics, and quality insights with stakeholders.
Automation Exposure (Good to Have)
- Basic to intermediate experience with test automation tools such as Selenium, Playwright, or REST-Assured.
- Ability to understand, execute, and maintain existing automation scripts.
- Exposure to CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, Bitbucket) is an advantage but not mandatory.
