Description

Inmate Account Specialist

Are you detail-oriented, highly organized, and committed to accuracy? Manitowoc County is looking for a dependable professional to manage and oversee financial operations related to inmate accounts within our jail facility. This role is essential in maintaining financial integrity, accountability, and efficient recordkeeping.

What You’ll Do:

  • Create, maintain, and monitor inmate financial records with precision
  • Process and record all incoming funds (cash, checks, and money orders)
  • Prepare and distribute payroll check releases for Huber and electronically monitored inmates
  • Balance accounts and prepare daily bank deposits
  • Maintain individual inmate accounts, tracking all financial and employment-related transactions
  • Process financial disbursements on behalf of inmates
  • Verify medical charges and prepare payment correspondence
  • Coordinate and record charges for inmate services, including haircuts

What We’re Looking For:

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial recordkeeping
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism
  • Experience with accounting, bookkeeping, or financial administration preferred

 

Requirements

A high school diploma and whatever additional education and work experience provides the necessary knowledge, skill, and ability to perform the essential functions of the position.
