About the role
The Project Engineer 2 assists and supports the Project Manager on assigned projects. The position works under direct supervision, performs routine daily activities, and gathers and distributes information. The Project Engineer 2 must be a flexible and adaptable team player and have strong communication and client service skills.
MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Setup initial contracts and project information
Coordinate various trades
Resolving design coordination issues
Receive, review, forward, and track the status of submittals
Oversee & manage the RFI process
Assist in the management of the project permit process
Assist in preparations of bid packages and procurement
Identify long lead items and establish procurement priorities
Update construction schedule based on project team input, Trade Contractor progress, and materials delivery
Change management systems, including soliciting, receiving, reviewing, and preparing quotations and change orders
Track and inspect material deliveries
Assists with reports regarding the financial performance of the project
Assist in the preparation of monthly owner project status reports, as required
Attend and/or lead project meetings, as directed by the Project Manager
Oversee timely distribution and accurate recording of all meeting minutes
Assist and/or complete project close-out
Communicate and enforce Manhattan's environmental, health, and safety management policies
Demonstrate commitment to an Injury-free environment through own actions and mentoring others
Assist in the review of Subcontractor monthly payment applications
Assist in coordinating punch list items and procedures
Perform quality control inspections & oversee QPL process log
Oversee project-specific integration of quality, closeout, photo documentation, & procurement technology software
