Company Description Abadha Foundation is a registered trust under the Companies Act of 1986 and has been advancing rural development across India for over Ten years. The organization focuses on empowering students, women, and farmers through education, livelihood initiatives, and community-based programs. In 2024, Abadha Foundation launched Duchenne India to raise awareness and support for individuals affected by Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. Through this initiative, the foundation works to improve access to healthcare, information, and social support, aiming to transform lives in underserved communities. Role Description The Managing Director is a full-time, remote role responsible for providing strategic leadership and operational oversight for Abadha Foundation and its initiatives, including Duchenne India. The person in this position will develop and implement organizational strategies, manage programs, and ensure alignment with the foundation’s mission and objectives. Daily responsibilities include overseeing budgets and financial planning, guiding program design and execution, monitoring impact, and preparing reports for trustees and partners. The Managing Director will build and maintain relationships with donors, partners, government bodies, and community stakeholders while leading fundraising efforts and advocacy campaigns. This role also involves supervising cross-functional teams, fostering an inclusive and high-performance culture, and ensuring strong governance, compliance, and risk management.
Qualifications
- Proven leadership experience in non-profit management, social impact organizations, or related sectors, with a strong track record of strategic planning and execution.
- Experience in program development, monitoring and evaluation, and impact measurement within rural development, public health, or community empowerment contexts.
- Strong financial management skills, including budgeting, resource allocation, and reporting, with familiarity in donor and grant management.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement capabilities, including partnership building, fundraising, advocacy, and representation with external organizations and government agencies.
- Outstanding communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead remote teams and collaborate across diverse cultural and geographic settings.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment, manage multiple priorities, and make data-informed decisions under changing conditions.
- Knowledge or experience in healthcare, disability rights, or rare disease advocacy (especially Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy) is an added advantage.
- Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Management, Social Work, Public Policy, Public Health, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
