Position: President AND ceo – Luxury Hospitality Project (5-Star Hotel, Darjeeling)
A leading and diversified industrial group based in North Bengal invites applications for a senior leadership role to spearhead the development and operation of a landmark 5-star luxury hotel project coming up within a premium tea estate in Darjeeling.
This is a greenfield leadership opportunity to conceptualize, execute, and operate a world-class hospitality destination in one of India’s most iconic hill regions.
Role Overview
The President will be entrusted with end-to-end responsibility for the project, including:
- Conceptualization and positioning of the hotel
- Project planning and execution
- Pre-opening and launch
- Setting up Full-scale operations module post-commissioning
The role demands a rare blend of strategic vision, execution excellence, and operational leadership in luxury hospitality.
Key Responsibilities
1. Project Development & Execution
- Lead the project from concept to commissioning
- Coordinate with architects, consultants, contractors, and government authorities
- Ensure adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality benchmarks
- Oversee design, branding, and positioning of the property
2. Strategic Planning
- Define brand identity, market positioning, and guest experience philosophy
- Evaluate and finalize management/franchise partnerships
- Develop long-term business strategy and revenue models
3. Pre-Opening Leadership
- Build and lead the core management team
- Establish SOPs, systems, and operational frameworks
- Drive marketing, branding, and pre-launch campaigns
4. Operations & Business Performance
- Take full P&L responsibility
- Ensure highest standards of guest experience, service quality, and brand reputation
- Optimize occupancy, ARR, and profitability metrics
5. Stakeholder Management
- Interface with promoters, investors, regulators, and external partners
- Represent the project at industry and government forums
Candidate Profile
Essential Qualifications & Experience
- Graduate/Postgraduate in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or equivalent
- 20+ years of leadership experience in luxury hospitality/ construction/ consultancy
- Proven track record of:
- Leading greenfield hotel projects (highly preferred)
- Managing 5-star or luxury resort operations
- Experience in hill destinations / resort properties will be an advantage

Mandate Objective
To identify and recruit a seasoned hospitality leader who can:
- Lead the project from concept to commissioning
- Establish and operationalize a world-class luxury hotel
- Build and run the business as a profitable, high-reputation destination
Role Summary
The President will have complete ownership of the project lifecycle:
- Conceptualization, planning, and approvals
- Design coordination and project execution
- Pre-opening and launch strategy

This is a CEO-style role for the hospitality vertical.
Key Deliverables
- Finalization of project concept, brand positioning, and guest experience strategy

Must Have
- 20–30 years of experience in luxury hospitality/ consultancy in similar line
- At least one greenfield / pre-opening leadership role
- Experience as GM / VP / President / Business Head in 5-star or luxury resorts or as Project Leader in project consultancy firm in similar field
- Strong exposure to project execution + operations
Preferred
- Experience in resort, hill destination, or experiential hospitality
- Exposure to brand tie-ups (e.g., Taj, Oberoi, Marriott, etc.)
- Strong network across hospitality vendors, consultants, and operators
