Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role based in Noida for a Manager Switchyard Design. The role involves leading the design and engineering of switchyards for renewable energy and utility-scale power projects, ensuring compliance with relevant standards, safety codes, and client specifications. The Manager will coordinate with internal engineering teams and external consultants for layout optimization, equipment selection, and integration with substations and transmission systems. Daily responsibilities include preparing and reviewing design documents, single line diagrams, general arrangement drawings, and technical calculations, as well as supporting tendering, cost estimation, and technical bid evaluations. The role also includes providing technical support during construction and commissioning, resolving design-related issues, and contributing to continuous improvement of design practices and templates.
Qualifications
- Strong expertise in switchyard and substation design, including layout design, equipment sizing, insulation coordination, and grounding systems.
- Proficiency in relevant design and engineering software (such as AutoCAD, ETAP, or similar tools) and familiarity with industry standards and grid codes.
- Experience in high-voltage systems and power system engineering for utility-scale and renewable energy projects.
- Knowledge of project management practices, including planning, scheduling, risk assessment, and coordination with multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to prepare and review technical documentation, design reports, BOQs, and specifications with strong attention to detail.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with internal stakeholders, external partners, and clients.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline; a postgraduate degree or relevant certifications in power systems is an advantage.
- Prior experience in switchyard/substation design within the power, transmission, or renewable energy sector, preferably in a managerial or lead engineer capacity
