SECTION II: ROLE SUMMARY (Purpose of the Role)
The Fabrication & Erection – Site is responsible for the planning, supervision, coordination, and execution of all structural erection activities at the project site. The role ensures adherence to safety, quality, and project timelines, while managing teams and coordinating with multiple stakeholders for smooth erection operations.
SECTION III: KEY RESPONSIBILITIES / ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Plan and supervise erection of structural elements such as steel components, precast elements, equipment supports, and heavy assemblies at site.
- Interpret erection drawings, GFCs (Good for Construction), and erection sequencing plans to guide the execution team.
- Ensure all erection activities comply with structural design, method statements, and safety standards.
- Coordinate with design, planning, and procurement teams to ensure timely availability of erection drawings, components, tools, and equipment.
- Supervise deployment and performance of erection teams including riggers, fitters, welders, and crane operators.
SECTION IV: KEY INTERACTIONS
Internal Stakeholders
- Site Engineers – Structural / Mechanical / Precast: Coordination on technical requirements and onsite execution.
- Planning & Project Control Teams: Alignment on schedules, progress reporting, and resource allocation.
External Stakeholders
- Subcontractors and Fabrication Teams: Oversight of work execution and quality of fabricated components.
- Client / Consultant Representatives: Progress updates, inspections, and technical approvals.
SECTION V: KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
KNOWLEDGE
- Minimum Qualifications: ITI/Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Civil / Mechanical / Structural Engineering or equivalent.
- Language Skills: Proficiency in local language; working knowledge of English and/or Hindi preferred.
Experience
- Years of Experience: 15 to 20 years.
- Nature of Experience: Leading and supervising fabrication and erection activities for steel, precast, or heavy structure components at industrial construction sites.
