The
Category Manager – Marketing & Branding plays a key role in supporting category strategy and sourcing execution for marketing-related spend. This includes areas such as advertising, media, digital marketing, branding, and creative agency services. The role partners closely with marketing stakeholders to deliver value-driven sourcing solutions that align with brand objectives, campaign effectiveness, and customer engagement goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Support category strategy development and sourcing execution for Marketing & Branding spend, including media buying, digital marketing, advertising, and creative agencies.
- Conduct detailed market research and supplier analysis across marketing agencies, media partners, and branding vendors to identify cost efficiencies and innovation opportunities.
- Collaborate with marketing and business stakeholders to understand campaign objectives and translate them into effective sourcing strategies.
- Track and analyze marketing spend effectiveness, campaign ROI, and vendor performance metrics, ensuring optimal value realization.
- Manage RFx processes for marketing services, including supplier identification, evaluation, and selection.
- Prepare stakeholder-ready insights, supplier comparisons, and negotiation inputs specific to marketing and branding initiatives.
- Ensure governance and compliance in sourcing activities while maintaining strong supplier relationships within the marketing ecosystem.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, Marketing, operations, economics, or a related field.
- 5-7 years of experience in procurement, category management, sourcing, or supplier management.
- 5+ years of experience in procurement, category management, or sourcing, with exposure to Marketing, Advertising, Media, or Branding categories preferred.
- Strong understanding of agency models, media buying, digital marketing channels, and branding services.
- Demonstrated ability to manage sourcing events, prepare negotiation materials, and contribute meaningfully to category decisions.
- Experience working with global stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
- Strong analytical capability, with experience interpreting spend data, benchmarks, supplier pricing, etc.
- Familiarity with procurement and contracting technologies (e.g., e-sourcing tools, CLM platforms); experience with AI enabled tools preferred.
- Proven ability to collaborate across business functions and regions, managing deliverables with minimal supervision.
