Job Title – Manager, Storage & Virtualization

Location - Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India

Experience - 8 – 10 Years

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Engineer in Storage & Virtualization to manage enterprise storage infrastructure, SAN fabrics, and virtualization environments supporting critical business workloads. The role requires strong expertise in Dell EMC storage platforms, VMware virtualization, SAN technologies, and enterprise backup solutions. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring high availability, performance optimization, and operational excellence of storage and virtualization infrastructure while collaborating with cross-functional teams and vendors.

Key Responsibilities:

Virtualization Management

• Administer VMware vSphere infrastructure including ESXi hosts and vCenter
• Manage VM lifecycle operations such as provisioning, migration, snapshot management, and decommissioning

Storage Infrastructure Management

• Administer Dell EMC storage arrays (VNX, Unity, PowerStore)
• Provision and manage LUNs, storage pools, and RAID groups

SAN Fabric Management

• Manage Brocade / Dell Fibre Channel switches
• Configure SAN zoning and fabric optimization

Storage Protocol Management

• Fibre Channel (FC), iSCSI, NFS, NVMe over Fabrics

Backup & Data Protection

• Administer Dell Avamar backup infrastructure
• Configure backup policies and schedules

Operations & Governance

• Support incident, problem, and change management
• Create and maintain technical documentation and SOPs

Key Skills Required

• VMware vSphere Administration
• Dell EMC Storage (VNX / Unity / PowerStore)
• Fibre Channel SAN
• Brocade / Dell FC Switch Management
• Storage Protocols (FC, iSCSI, NVMe-oF, NFS)
• Enterprise Backup Solutions (Dell Avamar)
• Infrastructure troubleshooting and performance tuning

Behavioral Competencies

• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
• Ability to handle critical incidents in production environments
• Effective communication and stakeholder management
• Leadership capability to mentor junior engineers

Qualification

B.E / B.Tech in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics, or related field.

Certifications (Good to Have)

• VMware VCP
• Dell EMC Storage Certifications
• Dell Avamar Backup Certification
• ITIL Foundation
