Job Role
- The Engineer / Manager should demonstrate strong expertise in BESS design and engineering, including system configuration and architecture, AC/DC circuit design, battery sizing and augmentation planning, auxiliary load estimation, functional safety compliance, site layout and system validation.
- Conduct comprehensive technical due diligence of Solar and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects, with a focus on design integrity, engineering parameters, and on-site execution.
- Ensure strict adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs), quality benchmarks, and regulatory requirements to support project reliability, sustainability, and timely delivery.
- Collaborate and liaise with stakeholders to enhance project coordination, optimize execution
- Monitor and report on project progress, quality standards, and long-term maintainability of infrastructure.
- Contribute to Lenders Engineering and Owners Engineering assignments across large-scale Solar, Hybrid, and BESS projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Apply strong expertise in Solar and BESS design and project lifecycle management, covering concept, feasibility, engineering, execution, commissioning, and operational phases.
- Lead and deliver techno-commercial due diligence, including feasibility studies, resource assessment, energy yield analysis, and annual operational performance reviews.
- Conduct pre-feasibility assessments, commissioning reviews, and performance testing of BESS projects
- Perform advanced performance analytics on operating BESS assets to evaluate degradation trends, safety parameters, and key operational KPIs.
- Review and evaluate contracts and agreements (PPAs, O&M agreements, site leases, ROW, etc.) from a techno-commercial and risk assessment perspective.
- Ensure compliance with all statutory approvals and regulatory requirements, including environmental clearances, safety standards, permits, and applicable legal frameworks.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate technical, financial, and operational risks for effective resolution.
- Evaluate project performance against planned schedules and financial models
- Undertake site visits to verify physical progress, validate installation quality, and ensure alignment with design, budget, and schedule.
Skills and Attributes
- Knowledge on Solar and BESS Industry.
- Knowledge pertaining to open access regulations, net metering regulation and various state specific policies.
- Possess strong analytical and technical skills.
- Excellent command on written and verbal English communication and presentation skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills in addition to solo performer as and when required. Self-disciplined and demonstrated capability to work in multiple projects as a team lead.
- Understanding of PV systems, PV technologies, energy yield analysis using simulation software.
- Expertise in MS Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint), Proficiency in Homer, PV Syst, SAM, Google Earth Pro, and Global Mapper.
- Experience with data analytic software such as Power BI, Tableau etc although not essential but preferable.
- Comprehensively evaluates the project's final report learning, guiding the team to imbibing for future projects.
- Proven organizational, professional, time management and leadership skills.
