Job Summary
The Technical Manager is a hands‑on engineering leader responsible for driving the design, development, and delivery of cloud‑native, distributed systems while leading a cross‑functional team of engineers across various experience levels. This hybrid role blends deep technical execution—spending 40–50% of your time coding—with architectural leadership, DevOps maturity, and quality engineering governance.
You will work with Java/Spring Boot or Python microservices to build scalable, secure, and resilient platforms. In partnership with DevOps/SRE teams, you will advance CI/CD practices, strengthen operational capabilities, and champion next‑generation engineering tools such as AI‑assisted development (GitHub Copilot, Cursor). Beyond your technical responsibilities, you will mentor full‑stack and quality engineers, shape engineering culture, and raise the overall bar of engineering excellence.
What Your Impact Will Look Like
Hands-On Engineering (40–50%)
- You will elevate our backend architectureby developing high‑quality services using Java/Spring Boot or Python microservices, ensuring reliability, performance, and scalability.
- You will strengthen system designby leading architectural decisions across microservices, distributed systems, event-driven patterns, and cloud components.
- You will influence frontend quality and alignmentby providing guidance and review for React + TypeScript implementations.
- You will improve operational performanceby diagnosing complex production issues and driving optimizations that enhance stability and user experience.
- You will accelerate engineering efficiencyby championing AI-assisted development tools (GitHub Copilot, Cursor) and building reusable frameworks and internal tooling.
Full‑Stack Leadership
- You will guide engineering direction end‑to‑end, ensuring backend, frontend, integration, and data layers align with modern engineering standards.
- You will uplift engineering talentby mentoring developers across various career levels in system design, performance, clean coding, and secure engineering practices.
- You will raise the technical barby establishing and enforcing consistent architectural patterns and engineering best practices across teams.
QA & Automation Leadership
- You will elevate product qualityby defining and executing an end‑to‑end quality strategy across manual, automated, API, and regression testing.
- You will expand automation coverageacross UI (Selenium, Cypress, Playwright) and API layers, enabling faster and safer releases.
- You will ensure predictable release qualityby enforcing quality gates, reducing regression leakage, and improving test maturity.
- You will empower QA engineersby guiding the design of robust test frameworks and validation strategies for dashboards, analytics, and data workflows.
Team Leadership & People Development
- You will build a high‑performing engineering organizationby managing and developing engineers across multiple experience levels.
- You will drive career growththrough structured mentorship, performance feedback, and personalized development plans.
- You will foster an engineering culture of excellencebuilt on accountability, continuous learning, craftsmanship, and psychological safety.

Delivery & Execution Ownership
- You will drive end‑to‑end deliveryby owning roadmaps, sprint execution, and release outcomes with predictable velocity and quality.
- You will bring visibility and transparencythrough tracking KPIs such as velocity, quality metrics, coverage, deployment frequency, and operational trends.
- You will remove blockers earlyand mitigate risks proactively to ensure that teams stay aligned and execution remains friction‑free.

- You have12–15 years of strong software engineering experienceand enjoy staying hands‑on with code while also leading people and growing teams.
- You bringdeep expertise in either Java + Spring Boot or Python microservices(FastAPI/Flask/Django) and love solving complex engineering problems in modern distributed systems.
- You thrive incloud‑native environments, especially on AWS, and you enjoy designing scalable, fault‑tolerant microservices.
- You are comfortable reviewing and guidingfrontend work (React + TypeScript)even if your primary strength is backend or platform engineering.
- You enjoy working closely with DevOps/SRE and have strong exposure toCI/CD pipelines, Docker, cloud deployments, and observability tools.
- You believe in a strong quality culture and have solid understanding ofautomation frameworks, API/UI testing, and quality governance practices.
- You have successfully ledcross‑functional engineering teamsacross development and QA disciplines, and you enjoy mentoring engineers at various career stages.
