Summary: The Manager / Senior Manager ? Transactions role is a pivotal leadership position within the financial services industry, responsible for overseeing the end-to-end management of transaction processing systems, ensuring operational excellence, compliance, and scalability across high-volume transaction environments. This individual will lead cross-functional teams to optimize transaction workflows, enhance system reliability, and drive continuous improvement in processing speed, accuracy, and security. The role demands a strategic mindset with deep expertise in transaction lifecycle management, risk mitigation, and regulatory compliance, particularly within payment systems, clearinghouses, or banking platforms. As a key stakeholder in the organization?s operational infrastructure, the Manager/Senior Manager ensures seamless transaction execution across multiple channels?digital, mobile, and enterprise?while aligning with business objectives, customer expectations, and industry standards. This position is critical in maintaining trust, minimizing operational risk, and enabling innovation in transaction services. Responsibilities: Lead and manage a team of transaction operations professionals, providing mentorship, performance management, and career development. Oversee the design, implementation, and optimization of transaction processing systems, including real-time and batch processing environments. Ensure 99.9% transaction uptime and SLA compliance across all processing channels and platforms. Collaborate with IT, compliance, risk, and product teams to align transaction architecture with business needs and regulatory requirements. Monitor transaction volumes, performance metrics, and error rates; implement corrective actions and proactive system improvements. Develop and maintain robust transaction reconciliation processes, ensuring accuracy and audit readiness. Lead incident response and root cause analysis for transaction failures, ensuring timely resolution and prevention. Drive automation initiatives to reduce manual intervention, improve efficiency, and lower operational risk. Ensure adherence to global regulatory standards including PCI-DSS, SOX, AML, and GDPR as applicable to transaction data. Partner with external stakeholders such as payment processors, clearinghouses, and banking institutions to ensure seamless transaction settlement. Prepare and present KPIs, performance dashboards, and strategic reports to senior leadership on transaction health and operational performance. Requirements Requirements: Bachelor?s degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA or CFA/CISA/CPA preferred. 8 years of progressive experience in transaction operations, payment processing, or financial systems, with at least 3 years in a managerial or leadership role. Proven experience managing high-volume transaction environments (e.g., payment gateways, core banking systems, clearinghouse platforms). In-depth knowledge of transaction lifecycle management, including authorization, settlement, reversal, and reconciliation. Strong understanding of financial regulations and compliance frameworks relevant to transaction processing. Expertise in process optimization, change management, and operational risk mitigation. Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., SQL, Excel, Tableau, Power BI) and transaction monitoring systems. Experience with enterprise systems such as SAP, Oracle, or FIS Core Banking is highly desirable. Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with a focus on precision and continuous improvement.
