Teach For India is on a journey to reach an India free of poverty and filled with love by ending educational inequity in our country. Fifteen years into our journey we are a movement of ~5000+ Alumni working at all levels of the education system, who are reaching 1 in 10 children across the country. These Alumni have graduated from our two-year Fellowship Program where they taught in under-resourced classrooms to put ~33,500 low-income children on a different life path. Today, we have ~1000 Fellows and are the largest pipeline of driven, skilled talent into the educational ecosystem in India. Over 16,000 Teach For India students have appeared for the 10th grade board examinations till date, with an impressive 95% pass rate across cities as of November 2024.
In 2022, we embarked on Phase 4, our fourth strategic phase. We have a bold and ambitious ten-year journey ahead of us that aims to grow 50,000 leaders, who will work collectively, and with love, to transform the lives of 1 in 10 low-income children in our regions, through an education that unleashes the potential of self, others and India. In this decade, five key priorities will lead us to this vision.
- Strengthen our core Fellowship to build strong teacher leaders who provide an excellent and equitable education to our children and continue to do so beyond the Fellowship
- Scale our impact by strategically introducing additional Fellowships as alternative pathways for leadership development
- Match the Alumni of our programs at an intersection of their interests and the needs of the system and our children
- Advocate for key issues that impact educational equity, and engage 3.5% of the population in the movement for educational equity
- Act collectively with our Alumni to learn about and address key issues in our regions.

Position Summary
The Manager, Salesforce Development will partner with Teach For India’s Technology Team to own, architect, and scale Salesforce solutions, leading the design, development, and continuous improvement of platform capabilities to support diverse organizational stakeholders, while ensuring Salesforce enables data-driven decision-making and operational excellence in service of Teach For India’s vision of “One day all children will attain an excellent education.”
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Build, enhance, and support scalable custom applications on Salesforce using Lightning, Apex, Visualforce, workflows, and automation tools, while leading the design and implementation of enterprise-grade Salesforce modules.
- Own and evolve the Salesforce architecture, contributing to end-to-end solution design including process flows, requirements documentation, and technical architecture.
- Identify, evaluate, and implement modern Salesforce frameworks, best practices, and platform capabilities to improve system performance, scalability, and process efficiency.
- Design and manage integrations with external SaaS platforms and enterprise systems, ensuring secure, reliable data exchange.
- Drive adoption of AI-powered solutions, including integrations with external AI models and effective use of Salesforce Einstein capabilities to enable smarter workflows and insights.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional stakeholders, translating business needs into technical solutions and ensuring alignment, delivery quality, and timely execution.
- Effectively drive people management by coaching, developing, and engaging team members in a collaborative and accountable environment.
Additional Responsibilities
- Manage and fulfill data management requests including bulk upload/download, data verification and validation across Salesforce and integrated systems.
- Establish and run audit processes and data quality checks to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency of data across platforms.
- Enable and empower stakeholder teams to own their applications, including building and maintaining reports, dashboards, and basic data workflows, with appropriate training and governance.
- Assist with Organization level responsibilities like Selection, Recruitment, Movement building etc.
As a Manager at Teach For India
- Contributing to the team goals and priorities beyond individual goals and priorities.
- Serving as an ambassador of the Teach For India brand and an advocate for our work and for educational equity in our country through both internal and external communication after commiting time in our classrooms to understand our work more deeply.
- Supporting with key organizational areas such as Recruitment, Selection, Fundraising, Volunteering, Movement Building.
Minimum Qualifications, Experiences and Expectations
- Knowledge/experience of programming in Apex (Classes and Triggers)
- Knowledge/experience of programming in Visualforce and Javascript
- Knowledge/experience of creating and managing process automation using Workflows, Process Builder
- Proficiency in writing queries in SOQL, creating reports and presenting findings.
- Experience in the use of Excel and/or any scripting tools for data transformation and aggregation.
- Strong critical thinking skills and ability to be resourceful, take responsibility and find effective solutions to problems
Preferred Qualifications, Experiences and Expectations
- Knowledge of Lightning Components Framework / LWC
- Salesforce Administrator/Developer certification.
- Knowledge of data models, database design development, data mining, and segmentation techniques.
- Experience of cloud hosting platforms such as Netlify/AWS/GCP/Azure.
