Manager - AO&CS in the role of Ramp Safety, Gurgaon
Role Overview
The Manager – Ramp Safety is responsible for ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient ramp operations by driving safety governance, incident reduction, process standardization, and a strong safety culture across stations.
Key Objectives
Ensure safe ramp operations across all stations
Reduce incidents and associated operational costs
Monitor and address policy and SOP deviations
Strengthen and streamline ramp safety processes
Build and sustain a proactive safety culture
Key Responsibilities:
Safety & Compliance
Support development and implementation of practical, sustainable SOPs
Monitor compliance with company, regulatory, and industry standards
Identify gaps and drive corrective and preventive actions
Monitoring & Performance Enhancement
Plan and conduct performance enhancement checks at stations
Provide documented feedback on best practices and gaps
Track, follow up, and support closure of CARFs and action plans
Safety Culture & Engagement
Promote proactive reporting of incidents, accidents, and near-misses
Conduct safety drives and awareness programs at stations
Lead structured safety communication through posters, videos, and briefings
Projects & Collaboration
Execute assigned projects, trials, and safety initiatives
Partner with cross-functional teams to embed safety culture across locations
Reporting & Improvement
Prepare and share safety incident and trend reports
Recommend innovative safety measures aligned with regulatory and industry best practices
Education & Certifications
Graduate degree (Engineering, Aviation, or related field preferred)
Safety‑related certifications (e.g., IOSA/ISAGO auditor, SMS, Human Factors, or Ramp Safety certifications) preferred
Experience:
8–12 years of experience in ramp operations, ground handling, or ground safety, with at least 3–5 years in a supervisory or managerial role
Experience in conducting audits, inspections, performance enhancement checks, or safety assessments is preferred.
Proven track record in incident investigation, root cause analysis, and closure of corrective action reports (CARFs)
Experience in driving safety initiatives, trials, or change management projects
Familiarity with DGCA / ICAO / IOSA / ISAGO standards and airline safety management systems (SMS)
