Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
Market Intelligence & Strategy
Macroeconomic & Commodity Tracking: Monitor global market trends, geopolitical events, and macroeconomic indicators to forecast impacts on key supply markets, raw materials, and logistics.
Supplier Landscape Analysis: Conduct deep-dive analyses into supplier financial health, industry cost structures, and emerging market competitors to guide category strategies.
Risk Management: Develop early warning systems and risk mitigation strategies for supply chain disruptions, capacity constraints, and pricing volatility. Drive centralized tracking, design and development of various programs such as - Sole Source Reduction, Business Continuity Planning, and Third Party Risk Management in conjunction with GMPLT and their broader category and execution teams.
Strategic Advising: Act as a trusted advisor to Category Managers, providing actionable intelligence that supports complex supplier negotiations and long-term sourcing strategies.
Data Analytics & Reporting
Commodity Index Management: Maintain and execute regular updates to central commodity index files, reporting packs, ensuring that global sourcing teams and pricing models are equipped with the most accurate, real-time raw material cost data.
Dashboard Development: Design, build, and maintain automated dashboards (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) that track procurement KPIs, spend analytics, savings performance, and inflation impacts.
Predictive Analytics: Utilize advanced modeling techniques to forecast price curves, demand variations, and total cost of ownership (TCO) across multiple categories.
Data Governance: Champion data integrity within the procurement function, ensuring accurate classification of spend data and maintaining clean inputs from ERP and source-to-pay systems.
Third-Party Data Management: Manage relationships with external market intelligence providers to maximize the ROI of subscribed data feeds.
Leadership & Collaboration
Cross-Functional Partnership: Collaborate with Finance, Supply Chain, and R&D to align procurement analytics with broader business objectives and financial planning.
Executive Reporting: Synthesize complex data sets into clear, executive-ready presentations, delivering monthly and quarterly intelligence briefings to the global category teams and GMPLT.
Team Development: Mentor and potentially manage procurement analysts, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and analytical excellence.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Education & Experience
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Economics, Data Science, Finance, or a related field. (Master’s degree or MBA is highly preferred).
Experience: 6+ years of progressive experience in global procurement, strategic sourcing, commodity risk management, supply chain analytics, or market intelligence. Minimum 2 years in a leadership or cross-functional project management role.
Technicals Skills
Analytics Tools: Advanced proficiency in data visualization and BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, Qlik) and advanced Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets (Power Query, macros).
Data Management: Working knowledge of SQL, Python, or R for data extraction and manipulation is highly desirable.
Enterprise Systems: Experience with major ERP systems (SAP, Oracle) and Source-to-Pay platforms.
Financial Acumen: Strong understanding of financial statements, cost modeling (Should-Cost analysis), and commodity indexing.
Soft Skills
Communication: Exceptional ability to translate complex data into compelling narratives and present effectively to senior executives.
Critical Thinking: High tolerance for ambiguity and the ability to connect the dots between global events and local supply chain impacts.
Influence: Strong stakeholder management skills with a proven track record of driving data adoption across decentralized teams.
