Job Summary
The PCB Manager leads a team of PCB design engineers responsible for the development, layout, simulation, DFM validation, and release of complex printed circuit board (PCB) solutions supporting new product development. This role drives technical excellence, team development, cross-functional collaboration, and continuous process improvements to ensure high-quality, cost-effective, and manufacturable PCB designs that meet business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Technical Leadership
Lead PCB design and development activities for high-speed, mixed-signal, power, RF, and multilayer PCB products.
Establish PCB design methodologies, standards, and best practices.
Review and approve PCB layouts, stack-ups, signal integrity (SI), power integrity (PI), and design-for-manufacturing (DFM) recommendations.
Guide teams in resolving complex technical issues throughout the product lifecycle. Company
Support technology roadmaps involving advanced packaging, high-speed interfaces, and next-generation PCB technologies.
People Leadership
Manage, mentor, and develop a team of PCB design engineers and technical specialists.
Establish performance objectives and provide ongoing coaching and feedback.
Drive employee engagement, succession planning, and talent development.
Support recruitment, onboarding, and capability-building initiatives.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Signal Integrity, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Reliability, Product Management teams and Suppliers.
Drive design reviews and facilitate technical decision-making.
Collaborate with external design partners, PCB fabricators, and assembly suppliers.
Process & Operational Excellence
Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on cycle time, quality, automation, and engineering productivity.
Implement PCB design automation tools and workflow enhancements.
Required Qualifications
Masters/bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Electronics Engineering, or related field.
15+ years of PCB design, development, or hardware engineering experience.
5+ years of progressive growth on people management and technical leadership experience.
Strong understanding of PCB design processes, fabrication, assembly, and validation.
Experience with industry-standard PCB CAD tools such as Cadence Allegro, Altium Designer, or similar.
Knowledge of high-speed digital design, SI/PI analysis, and DFM/DFT principles.
Strong project management, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
