Position: Manager — Partnerships & Promotions
Role Overview
The Manager — Partnerships & Promotions is XCITE’s external face and voice. This role drives XCITE’s outreach and visibility — identifying potential incubatees and partner institutions, managing social media and media engagements, and building strategic partnerships with affiliate organisations and government bodies. Along with the CEO, you will represent XCITE on all key public forums, events, and platforms, ensuring XCITE’s presence and brand are felt across the entrepreneurship and development sector.
Key Responsibilities
Outreach & Partnership Development
Identify, approach, convince and onboard affiliate node institutions across 12 states — universities, NGOs, FPOs, KVKs, ATMA offices, and Jesuit institutions
Actively scout for potential incubatees through outreach across affiliate partners, digital channels, field visits, and community engagement platforms
Draft and execute MoUs with affiliate nodes; manage ongoing relationship and performance monitoring
Engage state government departments (Agriculture, Rural Development, MSME, Tribal Affairs) for co-programming, referrals, and visibility
Coordinate with NABARD district offices and affiliate nodal institutions for startup referrals and joint outreach events, roadshows & joint bootcamps
Help Program Manager in building and maintaining XCITE’s mentor and investor network based on field experience & recommendations
Social Media & Digital Visibility
Develop and execute a comprehensive social media strategy across LinkedIn, Instagram, Twitter/X, Facebook, and YouTube — with consistent, high-quality content
Create and manage a content calendar covering success stories, event coverage, program updates, impact data, and thought leadership pieces
Manage all digital platforms: website updates, email newsletters, WhatsApp channels, and online communities
Monitor engagement metrics and continuously improve reach, visibility, and audience engagement
Past experience in social media management is preferred; proficiency with tools like Canva, Meta Business Suite, Google Adwords or Hootsuite is an added advantage
Media Engagements & Public Events
Write and issue press releases, impact stories, and media pitches to regional and national publications
Coordinate and publicise XCITE’s events — startup showcases, launch events, panel discussions — to ensure maximum visibility across all public forums
Represent XCITE at conferences, startup events, government forums, competitions, and public platforms
Build XCITE’s brand as a recognised thought leader in rural entrepreneurship, circular economy, and agri-innovation
Manage relationships with media — regional and national development sector journalists, editors, and publications
Fundraising Support
Support the CEO in identifying grant and CSR opportunities; assist in preparation of proposals and pitch materials as required
Maintain an updated database of potential funders, CSR partners, and government scheme contacts
Any other work related to entrepreneurship and XCITE, as assigned by the CEO
Candidate Profile
Education Graduate (must); Post-graduate (desirable); Mass Communication, Journalism, or Media Studies (preferred)
Experience 3–6 years in outreach, communications, partnerships, or social media management — development sector, NGO, entrepreneurship education ecosystem or social enterprise context preferred
Preferred Background Past experience in social media management strongly preferred; strong digital content creation skills; networks in Eastern/NE India a plus
Skills Social media management, content creation, partnership outreach, public speaking, proposal writing, CRM tools
Mindset Readiness to travel extensively and represent XCITE on all key forums; energetic communicator and networker; target-driven within a mission context; Readiness to travel as per requirement of RBIC and as instructed by CEO, XCITE
Language Excellent English and Hindi; Bengali or Assamese knowledge useful for NE outreach
