About the Trust
The Maharaja Sawai Man Singh II Museum Trust is a prestigious heritage institution located at the City Palace, Jaipur. The Trust plays a key role in preserving the artistic, historical, and cultural traditions of Jaipur while facilitating public access, education, and appreciation of the rich legacy of the region. With a multidisciplinary team working across collections, outreach, conservation, education, and events, the Trust is undertaking large-scale modernization and digitization efforts in keeping with international standards.
Role Summary
The Manager will work with and report to the Associate Director (Partnerships and Development) to —
Identify, reach out, pitch, generate support, and maintain relations with potential and existing donors, including but not limited to grant making individuals, corporates, institutions, and foundations, along with venture philanthropists and impact investors.
Ensure regular communications and adherence to reporting timelines with donors.
Coordinate with various departments within the organisation to collect and present relevant information and documents to respective stakeholders (internal and external).
Develop pitch decks, concept notes, project proposals, letter of interests, grant applications and proposals, award applications, etc.
Research, identify, develop, track, and supervise funding sources to generate funds for varied projects and programmes as envisaged by the organisation.
Roles and Responsibilities
1) Research and Drafting
Drafting:
Coordinate with, and aggregate information from, respective Program and Project Leads, Curatorial & Collections Team, and Accounts & Finance, on respective program/project activities, to draft concept notes, proposals, pitch decks, introduction emails.
Donor Research and Outreach:
Develop and maintain database of potential donors based on nature of activities and key components of respective programmes and projects.
Identify opportunities for effective messaging and campaigns on social media and other channels that will lead to increase in visibility and credibility, in collaboration with the Marketing and Communications Team.
Assist the Leadership Team in research on emerging trends in fundraising for heritage (tangible and intangible), art, and culture.
Maintain a tracker for communication with respective donors.
2) Multi-Stream Fundraising
Individual Donors (High and Ultra High Net-worth Individuals):
Develop communication and schedule meetings with potential HNI / UHNI donor leads generated by the leadership team.
Research, identify, cultivate relationships, and pitch programmes / projects to individual donors to secure donations.
CSR Grants:
Identify potential corporates whose sector or industry is closely related to key components of respective projects / programmes.
Reach out to key personnel of the identified corporates to pitch the idea, approach, and project for potential funding opportunity.
Work with the team to develop proposals that speak to the donor's needs, concerns and objectives.
Develop and implement strategies for strengthening relationships with existing partners.
National and International Institutional Grants:
Research on international trusts, foundations, bilateral agencies, consortia, individuals, and family offices that fund heritage projects (tangible and intangible), arts, culture, and history.
Evaluate organisation and program/project fit with eligibility criteria of respective International Grant.
Collate and edit narratives, information, data, and inputs from respective teams to fill and submit RFPs, Grant Application Forms, and documents alike.
3) Donor Management
Potential Donors:
Coordinate with respective teams to collate and submit required information and documents to potential donors, including project activity list and timelines, detailed project budgets, legal compliance, and financial due-diligence.
Existing Donors:
Coordinate with respective teams to collate and submit information and documents to existing donors, including project progress / impact reports, & fund utilisation report / certificate.
Coordinate with respective stakeholders (internal and external) for alignment between approved budgets vs actual spend.
4) Administration
Support in coordination, administration, and documentation of monthly public engagement events and flagship festivals hosted by the organisation.
Support for sponsorship opportunities under various events and festivals hosted by the organisation.
Supervise and oversee budgetary allocations vs fund utilisation for various projects and events.
Candidate Profile
Preferred Education Background and Work Experience:
Graduate/ Post graduate degree in social sciences (history, heritage, arts, culture) / tourism management/ heritage management/ commerce/ business.
Professional experience of handling similar roles in non-profits related to art, culture, and heritage sector is a plus, but not mandatory.
4+ years of professional experience in partnerships, collaborations, fundraising, report writing, and grant writing, preferably in non-profit sector.
2+ years of professional experience in budget management and coordination for utilisation certificates.
Preferred Skill Sets:
Outstanding communications and writing skills in English.
Attention to detail.
Ability to coordinate with departments, organize and prioritize workload, and adhere to deadlines.
Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
Working knowledge and experience with design software like Canva, Illustrator, and Photoshop is a plus, but not mandatory.
Interest in history, heritage, arts, culture, and tourism.
