2. Job Purpose
To manage the complete lifecycle of enterprise and business-critical applications supporting manufacturing operations. The role ensures stable, secure, scalable, and well-integrated SAP and non-SAP platforms while driving digital transformation across plant operations, supply chain, finance, quality, and customer-facing processes.
3. Key Roles and Responsibilities
Application Lifecycle Management
- Own requirements, design, build, testing, deployment, enhancement, support, and retirement of applications.
- Execute application roadmaps and support models aligned to approved IT and business strategies.
- Ensure application stability, performance, availability, and SLA adherence.
SAP and Non-SAP Business Applications
- Manage SAP S/4HANA or ECC landscape across core functions such as FICO, MM, PP, SD, and QM.
- Oversee MES, PLM, CRM, HR, portals, dashboards, and custom business applications.
- Act as the primary IT interface for business stakeholders on application-related matters.
Digital Transformation and Modernization
- Deliver application-led digital transformation initiatives across manufacturing, supply chain, and enterprise functions.
- Identify opportunities for automation, application modernization, system rationalization, analytics, low-code solutions, and cloud adoption.
- Translate business and operational needs into scalable application solutions.
Middleware and Application Integration
- Own middleware platforms and integration architecture connecting SAP, non-SAP, and plant systems.
- Ensure secure and reliable API, EDI, and message-based integrations.
- Monitor integration performance, resolve failures, support enhancements, and maintain interface documentation.
Web Platforms, Databases, and Operations
- Oversee internal and external web applications, portals, dashboards, secure coding, performance, and scalability.
- Manage application databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, SAP HANA, and PostgreSQL in coordination with infrastructure teams.
- Ensure effective L2/L3 application support, defined SLAs, escalation paths, knowledge management, root cause analysis, and preventive actions.
- Coordinate with vendors, SAP partners, and system integrators for enhancements and issue resolution.
4. Requirements
Education
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent.
Mandatory Certification
SAP Certification - functional or S/4HANA.
Preferred Certifications
ITIL Foundation or Intermediate; PMP / PRINCE2; AWS/Azure Developer Associate; cloud or integration platform certifications.
Experience
7+ years in IT application management roles, with strong exposure to SAP and non-SAP ecosystems, change and release management, risk and dependency management, ITSM tools, cloud/hybrid application concepts, and database platforms. Manufacturing IT/OT integration experience is an advantage.
5. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Tools
- SAP ECC / S/4HANA functional understanding across core modules.
- Non-SAP applications such as MES, PLM, CRM, HR systems, and custom applications.
- Middleware and integration tools such as SAP CPI or equivalent, REST APIs, EDI, and message-based integration.
- Web technologies including Java, .NET, REST APIs, and frontend frameworks.
- Database platforms including SAP HANA, Oracle, SQL Server, and PostgreSQL.
- Application support and ITSM tools, cloud and hybrid application concepts across AWS, Azure, or GCP.

- Application management professional with 7+ years of experience in SAP and non-SAP enterprise application environments.
- Strong coordinator between business teams, IT, infrastructure, vendors, SAP partners, and system integrators.
- Capable of improving application stability, enabling digital transformation, and supporting manufacturing processes through secure, integrated, and scalable solutions.
- Comfortable managing L2/L3 support, releases, incidents, integrations, databases, web platforms, and application roadmaps.
