Dayal and Lohia, Chartered Accountants, is looking for a Manager β Indirect Tax (GST) to join our growing team. The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of GST laws and hands-on experience in GST compliance, reconciliations, and return filings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Handle routine GST compliances for assigned clients, including monthly/quarterly return filings.
- Prepare and review GST returns (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B) ensuring accuracy and timely filing.
- Perform GST reconciliations between books of accounts and GST returns (GSTR-2B, GSTR-1, GSTR-3B).
- Assist in the preparation and filing of annual returns and reconciliation statements (GSTR-9 and GSTR-9C).
- Handle GST registrations, amendments, and cancellation applications on the GST portal.
- Draft replies to GST notices, assessment orders, and departmental queries under supervision.
- Assist in GST audits, departmental audits, and assessments by preparing data, reconciliations, and explanations.
- Support seniors and partners in GST advisory matters involving the interpretation of GST provisions.
- Keep track of changes in GST laws, notifications, and circulars relevant to routine compliances.
- Coordinate with clients for data collection, follow-ups, and resolution of GST-related issues.
- Maintain proper documentation and working papers as per firm standards.
- Supervise and guide junior staff or article trainees involved in GST compliance work.
Required Skills:
- Good working knowledge of GST laws and practical application of GST provisions.
- Hands-on experience in preparation and filing of GST returns such as GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, GSTR-9, and GSTR-9C.
- Experience in GST reconciliations, including GSTR-2B vs books, output tax liability, and ITC workings.
- Familiarity with GST registrations, amendments, cancellations, and regular portal-based compliances.
- Exposure to handling GST notices, assessments, departmental audits, and basic litigation support.
- Basic understanding of classification, valuation, place of supply, and GST rate applicability.
- Working knowledge of e-way bills and e-invoicing compliance.
- Proficiency in the GST portal, Microsoft Excel, and accounting software such as Tally.
- Good communication skills and ability to interact with clients and tax authorities.
