Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Other duties may be assigned beyond the core functions listed below.
- Oversee manufacturing operations ensuring alignment with company goals and production objectives.
- Review forecasts; analyze key operational metrics such as labor, scrap, production efficiency, cost reduction, and product quality.
- Determine current baseline departmental efficiencies and implement steps to monitor and improve through-put, waste, and downtime.
- Take a leadership role when it comes to quality, assisting Quality personnel, making quality-related decisions and being responsible for all quality issues. Drive initiatives to improve quality.
- Participate in the problem analysis determination and corrective action implementation of internal and external customer complaints.
- Coordinating preventive and predictive maintenance programs to minimize downtime.
- Maintain a safe work environment by enforcing safety regulations and guidelines. Encourage team members to prioritize safety and report any hazards, fostering an environment where safety is everyone’s responsibility.
- Provide leadership to supervisors, support staff, and production personnel.
- Lead hiring, training, onboarding, and retention initiatives for shop floor employees.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across processes and workflows.
- Partner with supply chain, quality, engineering, HR, and maintenance teams to ensure seamless operations.
The Incumbent Will Also Need To Ensure
- Adherence to Gates code of conduct & ethics. Shall set an example as a role model for his team in areas of personal character, commitment, organizational and work habits.
- To ensure compliance of HSE standards as stated in the policy in his area of work. As a responsible employee of the organization, he has to bring to the attention of the safety committee any unsafe practice/working conditions in the facility. Acts as part of the team coordinating engineering changes, product line extension, or new product launches to ensure timely and orderly material and production flow transitions.
Supervisory Responsibilities
The incumbent reports to Plant Head -Faridabad and Pune and supports him in all day-to-day operations to achieve the business objectives of the company. Production, Quality ,Maintenance, HSE and Continuous Improvement teams report into this role.
Requirements And Preferred Skills
QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- BE/ MBA (master’s will be preferable) in Engineering/Operations.
- Must have a minimum of 8-10 years’ experience in Production.

- Understands market dynamics as well as the legal and regulatory landscape.
- Must have knowledge of the Oracle/SAP ERP system.
