Role Description The Manager – HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring HSE policies and procedures across SBLT’s operations, with a focus on transport and mobility services. This full-time, on-site role based in Chennai involves conducting regular safety inspections, risk assessments, and audits to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and internal standards. The role includes leading accident and incident investigations, recommending corrective and preventive actions, and maintaining accurate HSE documentation and reports. The Manager – HSE will design and deliver safety training programs for employees and drivers, promote a strong safety culture, and collaborate with operational teams to integrate HSE best practices into daily workflows. The role also involves engaging with external authorities and stakeholders on HSE matters and supporting sustainability initiatives aligned with the company’s growth plans.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong expertise in Health & Safety and Occupational Health, with a solid understanding of applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards.
- Candidates should possess skills in Environment Health and Safety (EHS), including environmental risk assessment, compliance management, and implementation of HSE management systems.
- Candidates should possess experience in Accident Investigation, root cause analysis, and developing corrective and preventive action plans.
- Candidates should possess Training skills, including designing and delivering HSE training modules for diverse employee groups, and driving safety awareness initiatives.
- Relevant bachelor’s degree or diploma in HSE, environmental science, engineering, or a related field; professional certifications in HSE/EHS are an advantage.
- Demonstrated experience in managing HSE in transport, logistics, or related sectors, with strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work on-site in Chennai, coordinate with cross-functional teams, and respond effectively to emergencies
