AA. MANAGER EXTRA HIGHVOLTAGE LABORATORY
This position is Chief level and will report to CMD. The job description for a Manager in Extra
High Voltage Lab. includes the following key responsibilities and requirements:
Primary Responsibility
Establish 750 kV EHV Laboratory; suitable to test Products up to 420 kV, in line with
IEC, IEEE standards. This includes the PD free EHV Laboratory with 750 kV test
transformer, 2000 kV Impulse Generator, PD and Power Factor Equipment, and the
Lab Building, EMI proof called faraday’s cage.
Primary responsibility includes to hire and train the team of engineers for a world
class test and evaluation entity. Also fine tuning the setup to qualify NABL standard.
Establish safety systems and secure certificate of NABL.
Establish preventive maintenance, fine tuning and calibration system.
Train the team of Engineers and operators in system, procedures including safety.
Establish productive Test Procedure for Transformer Bushings and such products as
being introduced time to time as per National and International Standards
Manage Quality and speed when test sourced out including from that of reputed
Laboratories.
Provide technical support for site testing, including setup, design, and testing.
Maintain records of equipment tested and lab equipment process capability and
calibration.
Key Accountabilities
Responsibility includes reputation management with NABL and key customers.
Recruit talents best suitable for various position and organise training.
Enforce Health & Safety guidelines and coordinate safety training for all lab users.
Plan addition of equipment or hired services beyond internal facility.
Train staff including lab operators, and certify as required by NABL.
Qualifications
A degree in Electrical Engineering. PG in HV Engineering is desirable.
Should be fluent in English and Hindi.
Minimum 15 years’ hand on Experience in Quality Assurance and High voltage
Testing of EHV Transformers or Switchgear essential.
Strong leadership and management skills a must.
Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
