We are looking for a high-calibre finance professional to join the India Hydraulics business as Manager – FP&A & Strategy, reporting directly to the India CFO.
This is a broad-based business finance role combining FP&A, manufacturing finance, inventory controllership and strategic/special projects. The incumbent will work closely with the CFO and functional leadership to strengthen financial performance, provide actionable business insights and drive key improvement initiatives across the India business.
Key Responsibilities
FP&A & Business Performance
Drive annual budgeting, forecasting and long-range financial planning.
Lead monthly performance analysis across revenue, margins, operating expenses, working capital and profitability.
Analyse actual vs budget/forecast and identify the underlying operational and commercial drivers.
Develop management dashboards, KPIs and financial models to support decision-making.
Support monthly business reviews and preparation of management presentations for senior leadership.
Manufacturing & Supply Chain Finance
Partner closely with Operations, Sourcing and Supply Chain teams on plant and manufacturing performance.
Drive reporting and analysis of material costs, manufacturing costs, productivity, labour, overheads, variances and capacity utilisation.
Analyse standard vs actual costs and translate manufacturing variances into actionable business drivers.
Support product costing, make-vs-buy analysis, sourcing decisions and cost-reduction initiatives.
Improve visibility of manufacturing performance and identify opportunities for structural margin improvement.
Inventory Controllership & Working Capital
Drive financial oversight of inventory including inventory levels, ageing, non-moving/slow-moving inventory and inventory provisions.
Partner with Operations, Supply Chain and Sourcing to improve inventory turns and working capital.
Support inventory reconciliation, physical inventory processes and resolution of key control gaps.
Review inventory movements and exceptions to strengthen financial discipline and controls.
Drive actions on excess and obsolete inventory and improve end-to-end inventory visibility.
Strategy & Special Projects
Partner directly with the India CFO on strategic and cross-functional initiatives.
Support business cases for growth initiatives, investments, capacity expansion, new products/customers and other strategic decisions.
Lead selected projects across profitability improvement, cost optimisation, working capital, finance transformation and operational efficiency.
Conduct financial, market and competitor analysis to support business strategy.
Independently structure ambiguous business problems, develop fact-based recommendations and drive implementation with cross-functional teams.
Finance Transformation & Analytics
Identify opportunities to automate and simplify finance processes and management reporting.
Leverage ERP, BI and analytical tools to improve the speed and quality of financial insights.
Develop driver-based analytics linking operational KPIs with P&L and cash-flow impact.
Support broader finance transformation and digitalisation initiatives.
Candidate Profile
CA / CMA / MBA Finance from a Tier-1 institution.
Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience.
Experience in FP&A, business finance, manufacturing finance, supply chain finance or related roles.
Prior experience in a manufacturing environment strongly preferred, particularly industrial, automotive, engineering or B2B businesses.
Strong understanding of P&L, costing, manufacturing variances, inventory, working capital and cash flow.
Strong analytical and financial modelling capabilities with advanced proficiency in Excel; exposure to SAP/ERP and BI tools preferred.
Ability to move beyond reporting and translate financial and operational data into business insights and actions.
Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to work effectively with senior leadership and cross-functional teams.
High ownership, intellectual curiosity and ability to independently drive projects from problem definition through execution.
Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate understands the economics of a manufacturing business, is comfortable getting into the details of costs and inventory, can step back to understand the strategic picture, and can work with business teams to convert financial insights into measurable actions.
