Role Overview
The incumbent will lead innovation initiatives and drive the development of new technologies across relevant NIVEA categories.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Management Lead and deliver medium to high complexity innovation projects, demonstrating a strong understanding of consumer needs and category dynamics across key geographies.
- Consumer Insights & Technology Integration Generate and manage consumer insights, translating them into impactful innovation projects across regions. Integrate these insights with a strong scientific understanding of physiology and technology.
- Open Innovation Identify and scout relevant technologies through a network of new and existing partners. Contribute to product development by leveraging external collaborations.
- Workflow & Process Expertise Develop a solid understanding of product development and innovation management processes. Build proficiency in internal R&D systems and data management tools.
- Organizational Responsibilities Oversee laboratory management activities, including safety compliance, raw material management, and waste handling.
- Coordination & Collaboration Participate in and/or lead cross-regional R&D workstreams. Act as a key point of contact for suppliers and external partners.
- Business & Category Understanding Possess a foundational understanding of business cases and financials. Collaborate closely with marketing teams to drive innovation strategies.
- Stakeholder Management Effectively influence and drive decision-making with key stakeholders across projects and categories.
Your Profile
- A postgraduate or graduate degree in M. Pharma, M.Sc. (Organic/Pharmaceutical Chemistry), B.Tech./M. Tech. (Chemical Engineering, Cosmetic Science, Biotechnology), or related disciplines
- Relevant experience of 6-9 years in formulation development, preferably in Skin Care, Body Care, Deodorants, or Shower categories
- Work on emerging technologies and consumer insights, demonstrating strong analytical thinking and problem-solving from first principles
- Possess a solid understanding of skin biology, with the ability to generate consumer insights and stay updated on global product trends and technological advancements
- Communicate clearly, fluently, and effectively with individuals and groups, adapting style and messaging as needed
- Demonstrate strong presentation and analytical skills, with proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel adoting a structured, methodical, and logical approach
- Exhibit strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence, collaborate, motivate, and empower cross-functional teams to achieve organizational goals
- Prioritize effectively and make sound decisions aligned with organizational objectives and policies
- Manage projects within defined timelines, effectively navigating constraints and complexities
- Collaborate closely with internal cross-functional teams and key interface partners
- Engage with external stakeholders, including raw material suppliers and innovation partners
