Role Summary
The incumbent will be responsible for strengthening the fraud risk management framework across Godrej Properties by conducting fraud risk assessments, handling end-to-end investigations, driving data-based insights through MIS, and coordinating with cross-functional stakeholders. The role requires strong investigative acumen, business understanding of the real estate sector, and the ability to manage sensitive matters with confidentiality and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities
- Fraud Risk Assessment & Prevention
- Plan and execute fraud risk assessments across key processes including project management, procurement, sales & marketing.
- Identify fraud risks, control gaps, and red flags; recommend pragmatic mitigation measures aligned to business realities.
- Support development and periodic review of fraud risks and preventive controls.
- Investigations
- Handle end‑to‑end investigations related to suspected fraud, financial irregularities, misconduct, or whistleblower complaints.
- Scope investigations, gather and analyze evidence, perform data analysis, and document findings in a structured manner.
- Conduct interviews with employees, vendors, contractors, and other stakeholders.
- Prepare clear, factual, and actionable investigation reports with root cause analysis and recommendations.
- Stakeholder Management
- Act as a key interface between Corporate Audit, business teams, HR, Legal, Compliance, and senior management.
- Drive alignment and timely closure of investigation actions while maintaining independence and objectivity.
- Support disciplinary and remediation processes in coordination with HR and Legal.
- MIS & Reporting
- Develop and maintain MIS dashboards for fraud risk assessments, investigations, open issues, and corrective actions.
- Present concise updates and insights to senior management and audit committees as required.
- Track implementation status of agreed corrective and preventive actions.
- Advisory & Continuous Improvement
- Provide advisory inputs on fraud risks during new initiatives, process changes, system implementations.
- Contribute to strengthening ethics, integrity, and fraud awareness across the organization through training and communication initiatives.
- Stay updated on emerging fraud trends, regulatory expectations, and best practices relevant to the real estate sector.
Who are we looking for?
Education
- Chartered Accountant (CA)
- Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) – preferred / strongly desirable
Experience
- Relevant years of post CA qualification experience
- Prior experience in real estate / infrastructure / construction industry preferred
- Experience in fraud risk management, investigations, forensic audits, or corporate audit roles
Skills
- Strong understanding of fraud schemes and risks in real estate operations
- Investigation and interviewing skills with sound judgment
- Analytical mindset with ability to work on large datasets and MIS
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- High integrity, discretion, and ethical orientation
- Ability to influence stakeholders while maintaining independence
- Comfortable working in ambiguous and high sensitivity situations
