Job Title: Manager – 220 kV Line & Substation (PSS) – Solar Evacuation
Location: Katol & Maharastra
Experience Required: 8–10+ years
Qualification: BE/BTech in Electrical Engineering (master’s preferred)
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Manager to lead the full lifecycle of 220 kV transmission infrastructure and substation for solar power evacuation. This role is pivotal in ensuring safe, reliable grid interfacing, compliance with grid codes, and optimal performance of solar evacuation systems.
Key Responsibilities
Engineering & commissioning and execution
- Technical review and approve SLDs, busbar layouts, protection schemes, and grounding systems for substation.
- Technically Need to handle 220KV transmission lines and substation
- Validate vendor specifications for up to 220 kV equipment (transformers, breakers, CT/PT, SCADA/RTU, metering).
- Coordinate with design consultants and vendors for technical clarifications, inspections, and QA/QC.
Procurement, Construction & Commissioning
- Oversee procurement and site execution: civil works, structural erection, cable laying, switchgear installation, and earthing.
- Supervise testing and commissioning activities including insulation tests PSS equipment’s & relay settings, SCADA integration, and solar injection bay commissioning.
- Monitor contractor/vendor performance across schedule, cost, quality, and safety metrics.
Operation & Maintenance
- Develop and implement preventive and corrective maintenance programs for 220 kV substation assets.
- Conduct fault analysis, improve system reliability, and manage spares and service contracts.
- Ensure high uptime and availability of solar evacuation infrastructure.
Leadership & Stakeholder Management
- Lead and manage multidisciplinary teams including engineers, technicians, and EPC contractors.
- Interface with solar developers, CTU/STU/Discoms, and internal teams (procurement, operations, project management).
- Present performance reports on availability, faults, risks, and KPIs to senior leadership.
- Promote a strong safety culture across high-voltage solar interface sites.
Candidate Profile
- Proven experience in 220 kV substation and transmission line projects, especially for solar evacuation.
- In-depth knowledge of grid codes, solar interconnection standards, and high-voltage equipment.
- Strong leadership, stakeholder engagement, and project execution capabilities.
Note: Willingness to be site-based with periodic travel to HQ.
