The Manager, Data Management and Analytics ensures solid operations of GMAC’s database and data-related technologies. Key responsibilities include managing data structures, development and deployment of data technologies, production monitoring, quality assurance of data feeds, and delivering recommendations to future state systems. This is a hands-on role that requires active management of GMAC’s data ingestion, transformation, storage, and analytics.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute the design and development of GMAC’s analytical and decision support technologies (i.e., data warehouse, reporting/visualization, data integration).
- Provide operational support for all applications maintained by the team, including ETL, DW, and other analytical infrastructure. Document and resolve any job failures and deliver improvements to mitigate risk of the same or similar failures.
- Monitor pipelines to ensure data integrity, identify and document any symptoms and root causes of any discrepancies, reconcile data, and coordinate resolution of upstream and downstream application issues.
- Work closely with the data architect and application development team in the implementation of new and enhanced data models.
- Engage with business colleagues to understand data needs. Develop recommendations and propose solutions to meet those needs.
- Work with other developers, including from internal and vendor teams to oversee the implementation of efficient and high-quality data pipelines needed to support the GMAC’s business systems.
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the team’s backlog (enhancements, improvements, bug fixes, and projects) to inform prioritization of scope for sprint and quarterly planning.
- Ensure the proper training and effective use of data-related technologies across the business, including but not limited to: Azure Integration Services, SQL Server, Microsoft Power BI, decision support tools, data integration tools.
- Support development of long-term recommendations and plans to implement data-related technologies that support GMAC’s business needs and the GMAC Technology group’s strategy (i.e., cloud, speed-to-market, out-of-the-box solutions, etc.).Ensure compliance with and endeavor to shape improvements to change management and data governance policies and guidelines. This includes capturing requirements, as needed.

Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in quantitative or scientific field such as computer science, computer engineering, or data analytics; or equivalent combination of education, skills, and experience.
- 3 years’ experience in related field.
- Knowledge of software design concepts, general debugging methods, root cause analysis, and database management techniques and best practices.
- Experience as a SQL Server Database Programmer or Database Administrator developing database applications using complex and efficient SQL queries.
- Experience with SSIS (or similar) as the ETL tool for Data Warehouse development.
- Experience with Azure Integrations tools such as Logic Apps, ADF, Function Apps
- Experience with Azure data warehouse implementation.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite with special emphasis on MS Excel and data source integrations.
- Ability to guide others in resolving complex issues of significance to the organization.
- Strong project management skills and understanding how to manage the priorities of multiple stakeholders in a complex environment.
- Exceptional organizational, project planning, and time management skills.
- Ability to prioritize work to resolve operational or departmental issues.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and in a team setting, and across external and internal stakeholder groups.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; Strong attention to detail, with a keen focus on quality.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Ability to manage and prioritize requests from multiple stakeholders.
- Ability to work in-office and remotely according to GMAC’s hybrid work environment.
