Role Description:
Within the FinTech Products Data Science, Analytics and Machine Learning (FinTech Products DSAML) organization we are looking for a data-passionate Analytics Leader (Manager Analytics) to be based in our Bangalore office. We support Booking's businesses with financial products — facilitating payments for more than 50% of all transactions, enabling partner payouts at scale, and driving adoption of new financial products including our banking license capabilities.
A successful candidate will lead a team of 6 data analysts focused on the partner side of our business. They will take ownership of analytics that drive partner experience, product adoption, and payout quality, ensuring our accommodation partners can onboard smoothly, get paid reliably, and grow with our platform. This includes supporting regulatory and compliance analytics to drive the successful rollout of BHFS, a key company priority. They will proactively deliver insights to senior decision makers across Amsterdam and Bangalore, collaborate closely with Data Science and Engineering teams to ensure data is trusted and metrics are rigorously defined, and play a key role in shaping our partner analytics strategy over the coming years.
Key Job Responsibilities and Duties:
- Thinks strategically and identifies areas where analytics can make a significant impact on the supporting department (scope),
- Builds a strong team within their area, by coaching and developing ICs. Plays an instrumental role in evolving and designing new applications of analytics to business problems,
- Takes ownership and understands goals and objectives of supporting business partners, translating them into analytics requirements/framework,
- Is able to independently identify key stakeholders by using their understanding of the organization.
- Works closely with team members to ensure data quality, provide technical and tactical support, remove roadblocks and provide active support
- Is aware and has experience with statistical models and methodologies used within their scope.
- Is capable of articulating complex concepts in simple terms to senior stakeholders by independently applying storytelling techniques and tailoring language,
- Ensures clear and effective communication to their partners: proactively keeps all stakeholders informed of what’s happening, upcoming changes, projects, issues, etc.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Level of Education or equivalent : 9+ years (Bachelor degree or equivalent) 6+ years (Master degree or equivalent) 3+ years (PhD) (total experience) 1+ year management or equivalent experience (desired)
- Has strong data visualization skills and storytelling,
- Capable of driving actions from partners (e.g. self-service visualization tools or slide decks) and Is proficient (is still doing) and strong at coding principles (e.g. R, Python, SQL...) and data management (engineering, flows...),
- Expertise and experience on data Analysis,
- Strong data management, data visualization and quality,
- Is proficient and excels at at least one of the below:
- Coding principles such as Python, SQL
- Data management: engineering, flows
- Building scalable self-service analytics infrastructure.
