Manager - Cross Sell & Renewal
Location: Chennai

Reports To: Business Head

Job Purpose:
Manager – Cross Sell & Renewal is responsible for driving revenue growth by maximising customer lifetime value through effective cross-selling of insurance products and ensuring high renewal retention of existing policies. The role focuses on customer engagement, persistency and increasing product penetration across the customer base.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Cross Sell & Revenue Growth
- Drive cross-sell of life, motor, health and other general insurance products across new and existing customer base.
- Identify customer needs through data analysis, interaction history and lifecycle triggers.
- Design insurance products liaising with insurance companies and execute targeted campaigns to improve product-per-customer ratio.
- Collaborate with internal teams to maximise upsell and bundling opportunities.
2. Renewal Management & Persistency
- Ensure timely renewal of policies to achieve high retention and persistency ratios.
- Track upcoming renewals and implement proactive engagement strategies.
- Minimise policy lapsation through follow-ups and customer education.
- Handle renewal objections and negotiate effectively to retain customers.
3. Customer Portfolio Management
- Manage assigned customer portfolio and ensure regular engagement.
- Segment customers based on value, needs and risk profile.
- Build long-term relationships to drive repeat business and referrals.
4. Sales Execution & Operations
- Achieve monthly, quarterly and annual targets for cross-sell and renewals.
- Execute outbound/inbound sales activities via tele-calling, digital channels and relationship management.
- Maintain accurate records in CRM systems for leads, renewals and conversions.
5. Stakeholder Collaboration
- Work closely with insurers, underwriting, claims and operations teams to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Coordinate with field sales teams and partners for assisted sales and closures.
6. Data Analytics & Reporting
- Monitor conversion ratios, renewal rates and campaign effectiveness.
- Use analytics to identify trends, gaps and opportunities for improvement.
- Prepare MIS reports and dashboards for performance tracking.
7. Compliance & Customer Experience
- Ensure adherence to IRDAI regulations and company policies.
- Deliver a high-quality, customer-centric advisory experience.
- Address customer queries, complaints and service issues promptly.

Required Skills & Competencies:
- Strong sales, negotiation, and persuasion skills
- Customer Relationship Management expertise
- In-depth understanding of insurance products (life, health, general)
- Analytical and data interpretation skills
- Proficiency in MS Excel
- Target-driven and result-oriented mindset
Qualifications & Experience:
- Graduate in any discipline (MBA preferred)
- 7-10 years of experience in insurance sales, renewals or cross-sell roles
- Prior experience in a reputed insurance company / insurance broker
- Experience in managing renewal books and persistency will be an advantage
