JOB DESCRIPTION
Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Limited (APSEZ) is the largest commercial ports operator in India accounting for nearly one-fourth of the cargo movement in the country. Its presence across 15 domestic ports in seven maritime states of Gujarat, Maharashtra, Goa, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Odisha presents the most widespread national footprint with deepened hinterland connectivity. Role Purpose
This role manages cargo handling and storage operations, ensuring compliance with procedures and vessel plans. The role also coordinates vessel scheduling, berthing, and safety, while collaborating with stakeholders to meet key performance indicators (KPIs) for operational efficiency and ship turnaround.
Responsibilities
Cargo Storage Management:
Ensure efficient and safe storage of cargo in allocated storage areas, adhering to SOPs and vessel operations plans.
Vessel Scheduling:
Pre-plan vessel schedules by ensuring equipment is readily available and discharge/load plans and Form 6 documents are prepared in advance.
Berth Coordination:
Liaise with the control tower and pilot to secure proper berth allocation for ships and vessels.
Berthing Operations:
Supervise the berthing of vessels and ships, ensuring that all required resources are consistently available for operations.
Stowage Inspection:
Periodically inspect stowage and monitor hourly loading/discharge rates, implementing necessary corrective actions using RTQC and RTG cranes.
Cargo Handling Oversight:
Ensure cargo handling in the yard aligns with dispatch plans and meets operational efficiency.
Rake/Road Operations Planning:
Plan and review rake and road operations, ensuring compliance with contractual terms for dispatch.
Performance Monitoring:
Ensure ship turnaround time and cargo handling time meet KPI parameters and agreed-upon terms with customers.
Budget Management:
Assist in preparation of CAPEX and OPEX. Ccontrol the expenses and remain within the approved budget.
Regulatory Compliance:
Implement and enforce safety protocols in yard and vessel operations among employees and vendors.
Coordination with Vessel Officers:
Coordinate with vessel officers to guarantee uninterrupted vessel operations and communication flow.
Brand Positioning:
Ensure Adani's brand values are shown in all interactions. Strengthen relationships to boost the organization's brand and trust within the market and company.
Team Development:
Build a high-performing team. Set clear KPIs, track progress, and implement strategies for continuous improvement. Promote a respectful and safe workplace, lead collaborative and productive teams, and mentor for growth and success. Tracks and reports on key performance indicators (KPIs) for digital business success.

Educational Qualification:
Graduation/MBA/Master Mariner/B.Tech/B.E
Work Experience:
8-12 years relevant experience in Container Terminal, out of which 2-3 years in managing teams.
