Roles & Responsibilities
This is a full-time, on-site role for Manager – Business Development at the Institute of Directors (IOD), Chennai. You will be promoting and building corporate collaborations for events and training programmes, among other functions, as listed below:
· Managing end-to-end delivery of corporate business for boardroom community events, conferences, training programmes and projects
· Driving business development by identifying leads that are mission-aligned, generating sponsorships and developing partnerships with corporate entities and other industry bodies/associations
· Planning and managing short and long-term meetings, events, and conferences with national and international experts
· Creating extensive databases and marketing for all products & services of IOD
· Preparing periodic data analyses and market studies to aid in informed decision-making
· Handling client relationships and ensuring effective client management
· Creating and executing marketing plans for conference amplification
· Managing digital marketing initiatives and content strategies to enhance visibility
· Assisting the Chennai Region Office in any other functions as and when required
Requirements
· Master’s degree in Marketing, Strategy, or any other relevant discipline
· 6-10 years of experience in managing corporate relations and business development initiatives (working experience in industry associations is a plus)
· Ability to coordinate, plan, and execute events and conferences
· Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment and prioritise effectively
· Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
· Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other relevant applications
· Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with various organisations, partners, and supporters
· Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with a positive attitude in a multidisciplinary environment
· Ability to work with an autonomous mindset and set independent goals for personal and organisational growth
