Manager – EMI/EMC Testing Lab will be responsible for the overall strategic leadership and operational management of the EMI/EMC laboratory. This role ensures technical excellence, regulatory compliance, operational efficiency, profitability (P&L), and business growth, while leading a multidisciplinary engineering team. The role also acts as a key interface between customers, accreditation bodies, and top management.Key Responsibilities1. Laboratory Operations & Management
· Oversee day-to-day operations of the EMI/EMC laboratory and ensure optimal utilization of anechoic and semi-anechoic chambers.
· Ensure compliance with CISPR, IEC, EN, FCC, ISO/IEC 17025, MIL-STD, and MIL-STD-461G standards.
· Develop and implement SOPs for testing, scheduling, and report generation.
· Ensure adherence to turnaround time (TAT), productivity, and quality benchmarks.2. Accreditation & Compliance
· Maintain ISO/IEC 17025 (NABL) accreditation and manage external/internal audits.
· Ensure accuracy and completeness of quality documentation, including uncertainty budgets.
· Coordinate corrective and preventive actions following assessments.
· Drive continuous improvement initiatives aligned with accreditation requirements.3. Team Leadership & Development
· Lead, mentor, and evaluate test engineers, technicians, and support staff.
· Provide advanced technical guidance on complex EMI/EMC and MIL-STD compliance issues.
· Conduct training programs and competency development initiatives.
· Implement 5S, safety, and best laboratory practices.4. Technical Oversight & Quality Assurance
· Review and approve complex test plans and final test reports.
· Ensure calibration, maintenance, and validation of all EMC test equipment.
· Continuously upgrade test methodologies, automation, and lab capabilities.
· Ensure accuracy, traceability, and regulatory compliance of test results.5. Business Development & Client Management
· Act as the primary technical point of contact for customers.
· Support new customer acquisition and key account management.
· Handle customer complaints, escalations, and technical clarifications.
· Ensure timely delivery of test reports and high customer satisfaction.6. Financial Management & Resource Planning
· Manage laboratory budget, P&L, and cost optimization initiatives.
· Plan efficient manpower utilization and chamber capacity.
· Identify CapEx requirements and manage equipment procurement and commissioning.
· Support long-term laboratory expansion and capability growth.Required Qualifications
1. Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Electronics & Communication, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
2. Experience: 8–15+ years of experience in EMI/EMC testing laboratories with minimum 5 years in a leadership role.
3. Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of EMI/EMC standards including CISPR, IEC, EN, FCC, ISO/IEC 17025, and MIL Standards, with specific hands-on knowledge of MIL-STD-461G. Proficiency in Radiated & Conducted Emissions, Radiated & Conducted Immunity, ESD, EFT/Burst, and Surge testing.
4. Skills: Leadership, client management, technical troubleshooting, and project management skills.Preferred Qualifications
· Hands-on knowledge of MIL Standards, particularly MIL-STD-461G for military and defense EMC compliance.
· Experience with automated EMC test software such as TILE or EMC32.
· Strong exposure to Automotive EMC standards and OEM requirements.
· Experience in laboratory expansion, automation, or new test facility commissioning.Additional Requirement
