Job Opportunity: Azure Data Platform Engineer

Are you a cloud data expert passionate about building scalable, high-performance platforms? Landmark Group is looking for a seasoned Azure Data Platform Engineer to join our Digital Data Team.
In this pivotal role, you will design and optimize our Azure ecosystem, driving innovation through DataOps, FinOps, and advanced automation to power one of the largest retail conglomerates in the Middle East, Africa, and India.
What You’ll Do:
- Design & Implement: Lead the development of secure, scalable Azure-based data platforms and integrate diverse data sources.
- Optimize Pipelines: Build end-to-end workflows using Azure Data Factory, Databricks, and Synapse, aiming for maximum automation and efficiency.
- Infrastructure Management: Maintain high availability (99.9% reliability) and disaster recovery while driving cost optimization.
- Collaborate: Partner with Data Scientists and Analysts to translate complex business needs into technical solutions.
- Security & Compliance: Ensure all environments meet global standards (GDPR, etc.) and internal security policies.
- Automate Everything: Work with DevOps teams to automate deployments using Azure DevOps and PowerShell.
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience: 8–10 years of proven experience in a Platform Engineer or Admin role.
- Technical Expertise: Deep knowledge of Azure Data Lake, Synapse, Databricks, Event Hubs, Cosmos DB, and SQL Database.
- Big Data Skills: Familiarity with Apache Spark, Hadoop, or similar frameworks.
- Security Mindset: Solid understanding of network security (firewalls, VPNs) and data encryption/access controls.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering (Advanced degree preferred).
- Industry Background: Experience in a Retail setup is a significant plus.
