About the Role
Ecoveda Climate LLP is seeking a Manager- ARR to lead the development and implementation of Afforestation, Reforestation, Revegetation (ARR) and other AFOLU-based carbon initiatives.
The role involves project management, stakeholder coordination and carbon accounting oversight across the entire project lifecycle, from feasibility assessment and design to validation, monitoring and credit issuance.
This position is ideal for candidates with strong academic grounding in forestry or agroforestry systems, combined with interest or experience in carbon markets, ecosystem restoration, and climate mitigation projects.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead the development and implementation of Afforestation, Reforestation, Revegetation (ARR) and other nature-based carbon projects.
• Conduct feasibility assessments and support identification of new project opportunities.
• Prepare project documentation including Project Design Documents (PDDs), Monitoring Reports, monitoring plans and technical reports.
• Support carbon stock estimation, baseline development and overall carbon accounting for projects.
• Use GIS, remote sensing and field data to monitor vegetation growth, land-use change, and project performance.
• Establish and manage monitoring, reporting, and verification (MRV) systems to ensure data accuracy and compliance with carbon standards.
• Engage with local communities, farmers, landowners and government agencies to support project implementation.
• Coordinate with internal teams, technical experts and external partners including validation and verification bodies.
• Ensure projects comply with applicable carbon standards and registry requirements.
• Manage project timelines, documentation and reporting to ensure successful project delivery.
• Mentor field teams and contribute to building internal capacity on nature-based carbon project development.
• Collaborate with the NCS team lead on portfolio strategy and new business development.
Qualifications and Experience
• PhD in Forestry, Agroforestry or closely related forestry disciplines (Essential)
• Relevant research or field experience in afforestation, reforestation, agroforestry, forest restoration, silviculture, or ecosystem management will be an advantage
• Exposure to carbon projects, carbon accounting, or working with carbon standards is desirable
• Strong understanding of forest ecology, biomass estimation, plantation design, and landscape restoration
• Experience in field data collection, vegetation monitoring, and survival assessment
• Knowledge of statistical analysis, growth modelling, and data interpretation
• Familiarity with carbon project documentation and monitoring processes is beneficial
• Working knowledge of GIS and Remote Sensing tools is an advantage but not mandatory
• Good project management and coordination skills
• Ability to work in field conditions and engage with local communities and stakeholders
• Strong technical writing, reporting, and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and work in interdisciplinary teams
Working Conditions
• Office-based work in Delhi with regular field visits to project sites (30-40% travel)
• Field visits may involve rural and remote locations with basic facilities
• Occasional international travel for conferences, training, or project assessment
