The API Integration Manager leads the design, development, and implementation of complex integration solutions, ensuring seamless data flow between systems. This role will provide technical leadership and strategic direction for integration projects, driving innovation and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead the design and implementation of scalable, secure, and efficient integration architectures across multiple platforms, ensuring alignment with enterprise goals.
2. Define and implement an enterprise-wide API strategy, ensuring standardized API design, development, security, and lifecycle management for both internal and external systems.
3. Oversee the configuration and management of integration platforms like MuleSoft, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and scalability of middleware solutions.
4. Act as the technical liaison between various teams (development, operations, business) to ensure integration solutions align with organizational objectives and deliver seamless data flow.
5. Establish governance frameworks for integration and data flow, ensuring adherence to security policies, regulatory compliance, and industry best practices.
6. Provide leadership, mentorship, and technical guidance to the integration engineering team, promoting best practices and fostering a collaborative, high performance culture.
7. Drive continuous improvement in integration processes by adopting automation, DevOps practices, and modern integration techniques like microservices and event driven architectures.
8. Oversee monitoring of integration systems and proactively address performance issues or failures, ensuring high availability and minimal disruptions across integrated services.
Essential Experience:
1. Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
2. 8+ years of experience in Integration Platforms.
3. Expertise in designing and implementing integration architectures, including APIs, microservices, and messaging systems.
4. Knowledge of serverless architecture, containerization, and orchestration tools like Kubernetes and Docker.
5. Deep understanding of security protocols, encryption, OAuth, JWT, and SSL/TLS for secure data transmission.
6. Proficiency in developing, deploying, and managing APIs using tools like MuleSoft, or Azure API Management. Strong understanding of REST, SOAP and other API protocols.
7. Experience of working in productized environment and managing backlogs driven by business value.
8. Ensures compliance with relevant regulations like GDPR, HIPAA, or PCI DSS in integration processes.
9. Strong understanding of Agile development, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices.
10. Strong delivery experience, including programmatic principles, delivery leadership, servant leadership and cross team dependencies.
11. Passion for development best practices and good understanding of API best practice design principles, Authentication pattern, Integration pattern.
