Manager – Storytelling & Communications
If you instinctively notice stories others miss, love writing, and know how to create content that people want to read, share, and remember, we'd love to hear from you.
At Project Shiksha Foundation, we believe stories have the power to influence policy, inspire action, mobilise communities, and transform lives. We're looking for someone who can help the world understand why our work matters.
What you'll do
- Lead Project Shiksha's storytelling and communications strategy.
- Write compelling content for our website, impact reports, annual reports, newsletters, donor proposals, blogs, publications, and organisational collaterals.
- Capture authentic stories from students, teachers, volunteers, schools, CSR partners, and communities.
- Build and manage our LinkedIn presence while supporting communication across other digital platforms.
- Work closely with the Founder to create thought leadership articles, speeches, presentations, media features, and key organisational communication.
- Develop compelling communication material for CSR partners, fundraising campaigns, and institutional donors.
- Coordinate with designers, photographers, videographers, and program teams to produce high-quality communication assets.
- Manage brochures, magazines, case studies, success stories, and branding collateral.
- Ensure consistency in Project Shiksha's voice, messaging, and brand identity across every touchpoint.
- Travel to program locations, events, and partner engagements to document impact through stories, interviews, photographs, and videos.
- Use AI tools to enhance research, writing, editing, productivity, and content workflows.
- Support public relations, media outreach, and strategic communication initiatives.
We're looking for someone who
- Has 2–4 years of experience in communications, journalism, branding, content, marketing, or storytelling (though we'll happily ignore this for someone exceptional).
- Is an exceptional writer with outstanding spoken and written English.
- Has excellent interviewing and listening skills, with the ability to uncover meaningful human stories.
- Is proficient in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and AI-powered productivity tools.
- Is highly organised, proactive, and comfortable managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Is willing to travel across our program locations.
Why Join Project Shiksha?
This isn't just another communications role. You'll help shape the narrative of an organisation that's reimagining education for last-mile learners across India.
Over the last five years, Project Shiksha has:
- Established 32 Digital Shiksha Labs across Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, and Jharkhand.
- Impacted 10,000+ learners through flagship programs across 38+ government schools.
- Partnered with 15+ leading corporate organisations, including Amazon, Infosys, Reliance Foundation, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Alcon, Digio, and several others.
- Developed and launched a three-level Computer Science Curriculum designed specifically for government schools, unveiled in the presence of Mr. S. D. Shibulal, Co-founder of Infosys.
- Been incubated at NSRCEL, IIM Bangalore, with our work presented at Vidhana Soudha as part of efforts to strengthen digital education in government schools.
If you're looking to build meaningful work, tell stories that inspire action, and contribute to an organisation creating measurable social impact, we'd love to hear from you.
