Job Title: Manager – Sports Complex & Facilities
Location: Symbiosis World School, Lavale, Pune
Job Summary
Symbiosis World School is seeking a dynamic and experienced Manager – Sports Complex & Facilities to oversee the operations, maintenance, safety, and utilization of the school's sports infrastructure. The incumbent will be responsible for ensuring world-class sports facilities that support student development, physical education programs, competitive sports, and community engagement while maintaining the highest standards of safety and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Sports Infrastructure & Facility Management
- Manage the day-to-day operations of all indoor and outdoor sports facilities, including playgrounds, athletic tracks, courts, swimming pools, gymnasiums, and recreational areas.
- Ensure facilities are maintained to international standards and remain safe, functional, and aesthetically appealing.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules for sports equipment and infrastructure.
- Coordinate repairs, renovations, and facility enhancement projects with internal teams and external vendors.
Sports Operations & Scheduling
- Plan and manage facility bookings for Physical Education classes, sports academies, training sessions, competitions, and school events.
- Ensure optimum utilization of sports facilities throughout the academic year.
- Coordinate with PE teachers, coaches, and academic departments regarding sports schedules and requirements.
Event & Tournament Management
- Organize and oversee inter-school, district, state, national, and international sporting events hosted by the school.
- Manage venue preparation, logistics, equipment arrangements, vendor coordination, and event execution.
- Liaise with sports federations, educational institutions, and external agencies for competitions and sports programs.
Safety, Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure adherence to health, safety, and risk management protocols across all sports facilities.
- Conduct regular inspections and safety audits.
- Ensure availability and maintenance of first-aid facilities and emergency response mechanisms.
- Monitor compliance with school policies and statutory requirements.
Team Leadership & Vendor Management
- Supervise sports attendants, grounds staff, facility assistants, and outsourced service providers.
- Monitor vendor performance and ensure timely service delivery.
- Provide training and guidance to facility staff on operational and safety standards.
Budgeting & Inventory Management
- Prepare annual budgets for sports facility operations, maintenance, and capital expenditure.
- Monitor expenses and ensure cost-effective utilization of resources.
- Maintain inventory of sports equipment, uniforms, and facility assets.
- Oversee procurement and replacement of sports equipment as required.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Work closely with students, parents, coaches, faculty, and school leadership to promote a vibrant sports culture.
- Support the school's vision of holistic student development through sports and physical activity.
- Address facility-related concerns and continuously improve user experience.
Experience
- Minimum 5–8 years of experience in managing sports complexes, educational institution sports facilities, sports academies, clubs, or recreational centers.
- Experience in school environments, international schools, or IB curriculum institutions will be preferred.
- Proven experience in organizing sports events and managing large-scale sports infrastructure.
Skills & Competencies
