Role Description
We are seeking an experienced R&D Manager to lead innovation, product development, and process optimization in the oils & fats domain. This role is critical in driving scalable solutions, improving product quality, and supporting business growth through applied research and industrial execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead product development and formulation improvements in vegetable oils & fats
- Optimize processing techniques to enhance yield, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness
- Ensure compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements
- Translate lab-scale research into plant-level commercialization
- Identify cost optimization opportunities in raw materials and processes
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (operations, supply chain, business)
- Drive and manage R&D projects with defined timelines and measurable outcomes
- Maintain technical documentation, reports, and data-driven insights
- Continuously explore new technologies, innovations, and industry trends
Must-Have Expertise (Critical Skills)
- Strong hands-on experience in vegetable fat chemistry
- Deep understanding of industrial applications of vegetable fats
- Ability to treat and modify vegetable fats to enhance quality and usability
- Strong practical chemistry skills with problem-solving mindset
- Experience in handling complex chemical compositions
- Passion for new product development and innovation
- Ability to run and monitor commercial-scale plant trials
- Strong collaboration with labs, testing facilities, and quality teams
Domain Knowledge Required
- Biodiesel production processes
- Applications in paints, lubricants, and oleochemicals
- Exposure to Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) or alternative fuels (preferred)
Desired Profile (Education & Experience)
- B.Tech / M.Tech in Chemical Engineering / Food Technology / Oils Technology OR MSc in Chemistry
- 6–12 years of relevant experience in:
- Edible oils / vegetable fats
- Oleochemicals
- Biodiesel or related industries
- Strong knowledge of oil processing, refining, and applied chemistry
- Proven experience in process improvement and product development
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment
