What You'll Own
Partner Management & Governance
- Own end-to-end relationships with all logistics partners — courier companies, freight forwarders,
and 3PLs — across B2B and B2C operations.
- Conduct structured, periodic reviews of partner performance against agreed SLAs; drive
corrective action plans where required.
- Lead onboarding of new logistics partners aligned to evolving brand and category needs.
- Maintain a partner scorecard system — tracking delivery TAT, RTO%, damage rates, COD
remittance, and billing accuracy.
Delivery Operations & SLA Management
- Ensure on-time delivery SLAs are met across all brands, categories, and corridors (metro, Tier
2, Tier 3, and international).
- Define and enforce SOPs for B2B dispatch and B2C fulfilment, including special handling for
high-value or fragile SKUs.
- Drive active reduction of courier-attributable RTO (Return to Origin) through data analysis and
partner accountability.
- Manage import/export logistics for international shipments — including documentation, customs
compliance, and freight partners.
Commercial Negotiation & Cost Optimisation
- Lead commercial negotiations with logistics partners — rate cards, volume commitments,
penalty clauses, and SLA-linked incentives.
- Build and own the logistics cost P&L; benchmark against industry rates and identify savings
opportunities on an ongoing basis.
- Evaluate logistics cost per order by brand and category; drive initiatives to reduce cost-per-
shipment without compromising SLAs.
- Manage billing reconciliation — ensure partner invoices match actuals on weight, shipment
count, zones, and applicable surcharges.
Financial Operations & Reconciliation
- Own COD (Cash on Delivery) reconciliation — ensure timely and accurate remittance from all
partners; flag and escalate discrepancies.
- Manage returns reconciliation — track physical vs system returns, initiate claims for partner-
attributable losses, and close disputes promptly.
- Work closely with Finance to ensure logistics costs are accurately accrued, forecasted, and
reported.
Analytics & Continuous Improvement
- Build and maintain dashboards tracking key logistics KPIs — delivery %, RTO%, cost per order,
partner-wise performance, dispute aging.
- Use data to identify systemic problems and drive process fixes — both internally and at partner
level.
- Benchmark GBL's logistics performance against D2C industry standards; identify gaps and build
improvement roadmaps.
What We're Looking For
Must-Have
- 5–8 years of experience in logistics operations, with hands-on ownership of B2B and B2C
delivery management.
- Deep exposure to managing multiple logistics partners (courier aggregators, 3PLs, freight
forwarders) with direct accountability for performance.
- Demonstrated track record of cost negotiation and logistics cost optimisation.
- Experience with COD management, delivery and returns reconciliation at scale.
- Strong analytical skills — comfortable with Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, dashboards) and
data-driven decision making.
- Experience in an e-commerce or D2C company is strongly preferred.
Great to Have
- Exposure to international logistics — import/export documentation, customs, Incoterms.
- Familiarity with logistics tech stacks — courier aggregator platforms (Shiprocket, NimbusPost,
Pickrr), WMS integrations, or TMS tools.
- Experience managing logistics across multiple brands or business units simultaneously.
