Manager – HR Operations & Payroll

About the role: We are looking for an experienced HR Operations & Payroll Specialist who can independently manage HR operations, employee life cycle, payroll management, onboarding, compliance, HR audits, and HR helpdesk/ticketing systems.
Responsibilities:
1. Employee Life Cycle Management:
- Manage the entire employee life cycle: onboarding, confirmation, role changes, promotions, and exits
- Maintain employee documentation and records
- Manage and update HRIS
- Generate HR reports and dashboards
2. Payroll Management:
- Handle end-to-end payroll processing
- Manage payroll inputs, reimbursements, and full & final settlements
- Ensure statutory compliance: PF, ESI, PT, Gratuity, Bonus, LWF
- Coordinate with payroll vendors and auditors
- Handle payroll audits and compliance documentation
3. HR Audits & Compliance:
- Manage internal and external HR audits
- Ensure all employee documentation, payroll records, and compliance records are audit-ready
- Maintain statutory registers and compliance documentation
- Ensure labour law compliance and HR process compliance
4. Onboarding & Exit Management:
- Manage onboarding documentation and induction
- Ensure smooth joining and exit processes
- Handle exit documentation and FnF settlements
5. HR Operations:
- Attendance and leave management
- HR policy implementation and process governance
- Vendor management (insurance, background verification, payroll)
- Maintain HR MIS and reports
6. HR Helpdesk / Ticketing System:
- Manage HR helpdesk/ticketing tool for employee queries
- Ensure proper turnaround time (TAT) and query resolution
- Improve employee experience through efficient HR support
Requirements:
- 10–12 years of experience in HR Operations & Payroll
- Strong knowledge of Indian payroll, labour laws, and statutory compliance
- Experience in HRMS, payroll software, HR helpdesk systems
- Experience handling HR audits
- Ability to run HR operations independently
- Strong process orientation and stakeholder management skills
- Experience in startups / fast-growing companies preferred
