About the Role
Primary focus: Drive sales of debt capital for the NBFC from diversified market sources including banks, financial institutions, mutual funds, AIFs, family offices, corporates, and other institutional investors. The person will lead origination with fresh, innovative fundraising ideas, relationship management, structuring, pitching, negotiation, and closure of borrowing transactions such as term loans, NCDs, structured finance, securitized/secured borrowings, and inter-corporate debt, subject to applicable RBI, Companies Act, and SEBI requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Primary focus: Sales & origination – Generate new debt leads and fresh fundraising ideas (term loans, working capital lines, NCDs, market-linked debt, structured finance, subordinated debt, inter-corporate borrowings) through proactive market outreach.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with banks, NBFC lenders, debt arrangers, trustees, rating agencies, wealth platforms, institutional investors, and treasury teams of large corporates.
- Identify the best borrowing mix based on cost of funds, tenor, security structure, covenants, ALM needs, and business growth plans.
- Prepare compelling lender and investor pitch materials including business profile, portfolio performance, collection track record, financials, borrowing profile, security pool data, and end-use rationale.
- Lead end-to-end execution of fundraising transactions from initial discussion to sanction, documentation, security creation, disbursement, listing support, and post-closure compliance.
- Work closely with internal Capital support team for documentation, security perfection, disbursement processes, and post-disbursement monitoring/compliance work.
- Coordinate with finance, risk, legal, compliance, operations, audit, and senior management for due diligence and transaction closure.
- Support credit rating discussions and provide data required by rating agencies, lenders, and investors for annual surveillance and fresh issuances.
- Work on private placement of NCDs and other debt issuances, including discussions with arrangers, trustees, depositories, legal counsel, and listing intermediaries where relevant.
- Negotiate commercial terms such as coupon, processing fees, security cover, repayment schedule, covenant package, and prepayment conditions.
- Track market intelligence on debt appetite, sector spreads, investor preferences, comparable issuances, and emerging funding opportunities.
- Ensure borrowing proposals and executed transactions align with applicable RBI directions for NBFCs, for inter-corporate lending/borrowing structures, and SEBI's non-convertible securities framework where listing is involved.
- Maintain a live funding pipeline and MIS on sanctions, disbursements, renewals, maturities, covenant compliance, and lender engagement status.
Candidate Profile
- Finance professional with 5+ years of relevant experience in debt sales, syndication, treasury, structured finance, wholesale lending, or capital markets.
- If you have been executing deals but want to lead origination, own the sales pipeline, and manage end-to-end fundraising relationships, this role offers the platform to make that career upgrade.
- Must have hands-on sales experience raising debt for NBFCs, HFCs, fintech lenders, or other financial institutions.
- Strong network across banks, mutual funds, debt desks, corporates, investment firms, and fixed-income market intermediaries is preferred.
- Strong understanding of debt instruments including:
- Term loans
- NCDs
- Structured debt
- Inter-corporate debt
- Subordinated debt
- Securitization / assignment / pool-backed structures
- Good command over financial statements, portfolio analytics, borrowing covenants, security structures, and lender due diligence requirements.
- Proven ability to independently drive sales pipeline, negotiations, documentation, and closure under tight timelines.
- Comfortable engaging with CXOs, investors, trustees, rating agencies, lawyers, and internal stakeholders.

- Existing relationships with debt market participants that can be activated quickly for sales.
