Overview:
Position Summary:
The Management Accountant plays a key role in supporting the financial operations of Visy’s QLD Corrugated division. The role is responsible for delivering accurate and timely accounting, finance, audit, and inventory support services. Core activities include preparing journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations in SAP, assisting with the financial audit process, and supporting month-end and budget cycles.
The role also provides daily operational reporting to the Queensland business. Success in this position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage high-volume transactional tasks while collaborating effectively with stakeholders across finance, procurement, operations, and external auditors.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounting:
- Prepare and process journal entries in SAP.
- Prepare balance sheet reconciliations in Excel and upload them into the Blackline system.
- Assist with coding transactions in VIM (SAP Vendor Invoice Management System).
Finance:
- Prepare Excel templates for month-end Profit & Loss and forecast preparation.
- Assist with updates to Excel templates for the annual budget process.
- Assist with the preparation of customer rebate workflows.
Inventory:
- Use SAP and WMS inventory systems to prepare reports.
- Assist the business in investigating and rectifying negative inventory balances.
Reporting:
- Prepare daily business reports, including corrugator machine performance data, spend, and sales reporting.
- Prepare reports from external systems in Excel and publish them via email to the QLD team.
Audit:
- Support the financial audit process by providing supporting documentation as required.
Key Challenges:
- Managing diverse and high-volume finance tasks efficiently.
- Using external system information to produce accurate and timely Excel reports.
- Increased communication requirements due to the direct manager operating in a different time zone.
Key Requirements:
Experience and Qualifications:
Mandatory (Critical for the Role):
- Accounting or related financial qualifications
- Experience in a finance support role involving journal entry preparation, balance sheet reconciliations, and month-end or budget support.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounts/finance administrator roles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent organizational and analytical abilities.
- Effective communication skills to build rapport and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of accuracy.
Desirable (Preferred for the Role):
- Advanced knowledge of SAP and inventory management systems.
Skills Required:
